It’s gotten so bad that there is a Daily Beast post pleading for the right wing to rein in the cray-cray, citing the embarrassing bleatings of Huckabee, Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association (“We’ve kicked God out of our public school system“), Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert (called for guns in schools), and Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America (“Gun-control supporters have the blood of little children on their hands.”).
[T]he reflexive deflection, the extreme avoidance of reality, the cruelty posing as compassion of these influential voices should be a cold wake-up call. It is a sign of the deep struggle that still remains when it comes to building broader coalitions, especially within the GOP. Some responsible Republicans see the possibility of being primaried by this Tea-vangelist wing, and conclude that silence and avoidance is the best bet. But that appeasement approach only empowers the extremes.

Again, if the only thing preventing you from going on a mass killing streak is thinking that there are invisible people watching you all the time who will punish you if you do something they don’t like and having to have “God” printed everywhere you look to remind you to behave you aren’t a god fearing Christian. You are a sociopath.
If anything, these people are pushing everyone to question the exsistance of god. After all, if god exsists why wasn’t he there? why didn’t he do something? why did no one stop it? why, why, why…
They’ll point fingers every where but where it should be pointed at.

A socity that has forgotten that guns come with a great responsability. Like Atticus taught Scout and Jem that a gun can kill by shooting a watermelon. But now days we let kids play video games that are so real and so violent I simply call it death porn now.
We as a socity need to rein in assult weapons, the magazines and the ammunition by taxes, licence and yeah, law. Guns for actual hunting and home defense are needed. But assault weapons? Those are only meant to be used on humans.
9mm, 10mm, .45ACP, .223, .556 and .50BMG were all round developed with warfare and great injury to humans in mind. They are all lousy hunting rounds. They tear up useable meat of the game because they’re designed to assault the human body. Not kill a deer or a boar. Assault guns are designed to pump out as much ammo as quickly as possible because humans shoot back, but deer? When’s the last time you saw Bambi shoot back?
Deer are some of the most elusive game. You typicaly have only one shot and they’re gone.
Home intruders are a lot like deer. One shot and they’re gone.
In other words, in the real non-war world you only get one shot or maybe two on a really good day.

I disagree. He’s a snake, but he is in close contact with the reality of money; like all his kind, he knows the racket. When the Founding Fathers included the non-infringement of the right to bear arms, the purpose was defense against tyranny and not hunting and home defense.
I don’t mind learning new facts about the tragedy or having forensic specialists discuss it, but it seems that pastors, television shows and others are mostly exploiting it at this point. It’s starting to feel like porn.
I’m guessing visions of this kind of focus are what people like Lanza fantasize about before they act on the fantasy.

Thats probably why the founding fathers included this in the state constitution: “Whereas Ministers of the Gospel are by their profession, dedicated to God and the care of souls, and ought not to be diverted from the great duties of their functions; therefore, no Minister of the Gospel, or priest of any denomination whatever, shall be eligible to a seat in either House of the Legislature.”
