How else to explain this:

Thailand is one of the world’s sex tourism hot spots. I wonder how many of Preserve Marriage Washington’s fans there are Washington state voters.
Before the buying spree began, the page had only about 6,000 likes. It’s hard to imagine the purpose of buying empty likes, except to perhaps generate a false sense of strength among local supporters.
Preserve Marriage Washington is the group trying to kill Washington state’s freedom to marry law. To keep the law on the books, Washingtonians must vote “Approved” on Referendum 74 this Nov. 6th.

My 2 cents is … LMAOROFL. Now they have to buy foreign likes? That is damn funny. Can’t get enough people here to like them so go out and buy some.
Facebook is supposedly cracking down on this kind of fraud. I don’t know how it works but I hope NOM gets caught (again) defrauding the public.
Laurel Ramseyer,
You’re right, they probably are trying to make themselves look stronger than they are. This through might be an act of desperation on their part to look like they have widespread support when they do not, which is a good thing.
Actually, they had under 3,000 likes before they fabricated “likes”. These guys have over 12,000 fake likes!! I personally reported their page as a scam to facebook because facebook is trying to crack down on fake likes. It is fraudulent behavior and deceitful to individuals purchasing advertisement. I recommend others do the same. While some will try to expose them on their own page, like I learned, they simply block you. They are also paying folks to write daily comments and troll on their page. Look for Greg Beattie, he is one of them. The irony of it all is the religious foundation to the opposition, which you would think would use a higher moral standard! Nope! This campaign has used sooooo many lies! Starting with paid out of state signature gatherers who were convincing voters signing the referendum was in favor of the LGBT community. They also had a signature counter that magically decreased the number of gathered signatures to make it seem like they did not have enough signatures and in the final stretch made it seem like the people came together last minute. All the fake likes the fake supporters posting on the page and the scare tactics. Just embarrassing for PMW (branch of NOM) to proclaim this is a grassroots effort when all it is doing is trying to place wedges amongst members of washingtonstate community for their political agendas. Sick!
