I guess after Grandpa Clint’s senior moment during the RNC, we messages from Hollywood conservatives are out there in attempt to resonate with some unidentified demographic out there. “Eastwooding” has taken the country by storm.
Now we have Chuck Norris (along with his wife) here to share a message for you about the dire consequences of re-electing Barack Obama. (WND)
Norris and his wife, Gena, have filmed a public service announcement, unveiled exclusively at WND, wherein the two urge Christians to help save the country in November.
“We are here to talk about a growing concern we all share,” Chuck Norris explains. “If we look to history, our great country and freedom are under attack. We’re at a tipping point and, quite possibly, our country as we know it may be lost forever if we don’t change the course in which our country is headed.”
…Chuck cautions Christians about the cost of doing nothing while the nation spirals into a state of socialism from which there will be no return.
“We know you love your family and your freedom as much as Gena and I do,” he says in his appeal to Americans. “And it is because of that we can no longer sit quietly or stand on the sidelines and watch our country go the way of socialism or something much worse.”
OOoooh. Something much worse. Well, I do know something that is definitely worse to experience — the wisdumb of former SNL “comedienne” Victoria Jackson. Her epic pronouncements about rape and homosexuality will curl your hair.
“The Todd Akin thing was so blown out of proportion — it’s a joke,” Jackson said at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., when interviewed for mySiriusXM OutQ radio program. “How many times do people get pregnant from rape? It’s point zero zero one percent. It’s a joke. I read lots of articles. I know people, because I’m 53. I’ve know a lot of people, and I’ve actually never known anyone who got pregnant from being raped.”
“And guess what?” she continued. “If I got raped, I would have the baby. And if I didn’t want to keep it because I had these [mocking tone] horrible nightmares, I would adopt it out. But I think that God can turn a bad thing into a good thing. And that, if I got raped and a beautiful baby who was innocent was born out of it, that would be a blessing. The DNA of a baby is individual. It’s not the mother’s DNA. It’s not the father’s DNA. And that’s why I believe abortion is murder, because it’s not the woman’s body. It has it’s own DNA. If there’s a boy baby inside of me, he has a penis. That’s not my body.”

Apparently the same can be said about a brain or heart?
Sounds to me like she’s saying abortions okay if it’s a girl.
I’m sorry. But I cannot imagine with the racist republican party that if a white southern belle was raped by a black man?
I cannot imagine the parents or the women imagining this was a gift from God.
I’ve been pro-choice, my entire life, but now, after reading Victoria Jackson’s poignant (pregnant?) and intelligent message, I must reconsider.
Penis.
And just how many of her ‘friends’ would actually confide in Victoria Jackson if they had been raped?
These people must have terrifyingly lonely lives. Very sad.
I’ve “actually” never known anyone who got pregnant from being raped either.
Since I’ve yet to think of anybody I’ve known who got raped, that is maybe not a very useful observation. Or maybe I’ve known a lot of people who got raped, but they just didn’t tell me about it.
Oh, oh! I just thought of one. She was raped repeatedly by multiple attackers and didn’t get pregnant. So there.
I suppose that since she was beaten near to death, shot in the head and neck several times and thrown unconcious off a bridge into the lake might be considered a factor tho, so I guess that one doesn’t count. Good thing too, she spent so long in the hospital the baby might have been affected.
I wonder why I never did an abortion search in the bible, seems accoring to the bible god doesn’t place much value on any child below a month http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/says_about/abortion.html
bunch of stuff in that link;
And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? … Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. — Numbers 31:15-17
(Some of the non-virgin women must have been pregnant. They would have been killed along with their unborn fetuses.)
Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. — Hosea 9:14
Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb. — Hosea 9:16
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. — Hosea 13:16
oofah
rut ro…there is the killing of mother and child in womb;
Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. — Genesis 38:24
What is your favorite Victoria Jackson character from SNL?
Exactly my point.
Curck Norris and his wife can no longer be still??
When the hell were they still? For one thing, they were out campaigning for Huckabee four years ago saying how imperative it was that Huckabee get the nom, none of the other Republicans seeking it..
Now, let me think. Who was Huckabee running against four years ago? McCain, yes. Who else? Oh, yeah. Romney. (Two of the richest men in the U.S., but that’s another story.)
Which translation are those quotations coming from? (If you know. please don’t go to any trouble.)
She is making a point that an abortion is not something a woman does to her own body and only her own body.
Maybe her point is that life begins at sperm formation and we should jail anyone who doesn’t save their precious bodily fluids.
The Chuck Norris thing is another sign of desperation – they need to convince the fundies to vote for the Mormon.
Constitution Party Ballot Access
They submitted 2x the number of signatures needed in Virginia, but they have not been validated yet.
In the quiet of the voting booth, are the fundies going to listen to the whispers of Chuck Norris? Or will they vote their conscience?
That’s exactly what she’s saying. Good catch.
Upchuck Norris.
Says it for me.
Extremely funny calling Jackson a comedian, seriously, with that title shouldn’t there be something about you that’s at least amusing? Is being perpetually annoyingly stupid funny?
As for Norris and his racist snake-handling, the only thing I want to hear from him is how his project to count to infinity twice is going.
Norris is a man who makes a living “acting” in the most violent movies on the planet. He would duke it out with “Duke” Wayne! HE is giving US lessons in morality and saving the planet? The Rethugs can have him. As for Victoria Jackson, she about as smart at 53 as she was at 3. What a shame that such a comic talent has become so laughable. Give them both a bigger forum. They are the best evidence the nation needs of the sorry state of the Republican Party.
Really good question.
I couldn’t find any reference to version at http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/says_about/abortion.html. Which omission is so sloppy as to make the site suspect.
I checked the wording of Num 31:15-17 and it agrees with the KJV at http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers%2031:15-17&version=KJV
I think the ghastly tales in perris@8 are just a random sampling. Pick any thirty pages from the Pentateuch and you’ll have nightmares for days afterward.
See, the problem is the microphone. And the camera. Stick ‘em in somebodys face, anybodys face, and they start to babble. On and on and on. Eventually their brains leak out but does that stop them babbling? Nope.
Eastwooding is so damned cool! I think I’ll start a club.
Would it be alright to go Eastwooding sitting in a chair next to THE chair? I don’t know many people who can stand long enough to get much out of it.
The evidence seems indisputable. LOL.
I’m surprised nobody has Eastwooded in front of a urinal.
“And I swear to you, that if you step into the street with oncoming traffic, that I will pull you back and take the hit for you. Go ahead… you can take my word for it, because I say God commands me to do this.”
(There’s a sucker born every minute.)
And then there’s this “socialism” that God so hates — uh, what? where? Oh, yeah… the Gov giving huge amounts of money to the banks and big corporations. Is that what they mean? …No, not a chance.
We now see the influence of corporate religious propaganda.
There is also the part saying that if a woman is hit/beaten up and dies as a result, the attacker is to be put to death. But if she has a miscarriage he gets off with a fine.
Clearly an adult human is worth more than a fetus.
My favorite Victoria Jackson character? Well, it would be a toss-up between the mother of Toonces The Driving Cat and the daughter of Nora Dunn’s talk show host character, Pat Stevens. Both are negligible roles that could have been played by just about anyone.
LGBT-baiting for fun and profit is a favored income stream for those working the wingnut-welfare grift. See also the attacks by James T. Hayes, the newest darling of the right-wing rubber-chicken circuit, on various ICE persons.
I’m not sure why there is such a bias against socialism or even communism among fundamentalists. I am not being anti-Christian in this comment but I’m willing to look at the evidence. Capitalism, socialism, and communism have been around about as far back in time as we can see. I would define capitalism as being in business for profit. Socialism and communism are simply forms of providing for the good of the community. Jesus actually led a small band of people who did not work for a living; there is hardly any evidence of how they ever had enough to eat except through the kindness of other people. The communal imperative became more pronounced after Jesus was no longer living among the believers. One man named Ananais was struck dead because he held back some money from the group. There were and are many groups, mainly religious or religious based, that practice communism or socialism. Many people, however, make capitalism into tenent of Christianity or Judaism so that it is part of the religion. The Christians, at least, should know better.
Fundamentalists are authoritarian. They like the OT God. Why do you think Israel likes them?
Anyone who is a member of organized religion that attends church services is violating the words of Christ. He recommended praying alone and silently, otherwise they are Hypo-Christians.
Not quite. Without looking up the exact quote, Jesus also said that anywhere two or three are gathered in my name, I will be there also. Anyway, praying alone is not the same as going to church. Jesus and the Disciples and Paul gathered together in groups under various circumstances.
