The WordPress upgrade on FDL appears to have gone well, so I’m tossing up this post just for fun and testing (the back-end dashboard improvements look good so far).

I made it to 49! I have learned not to take this for granted, given the health woes and chronic pain that entered my life over the last few years. On some days it threatens to break me from the inside out. On this day I give a hat tip to the family and friends (online and offline) who make me laugh and smile, reminding me just how fortunate I am, how full my life really has been. I don’t need a party or presents to feel that.

It’s been an odd, interesting life so far, certainly not a predictable one; the world around me has gone through interesting changes during these 49 years. Anyway, I think I’ll hang around on the planet a little while longer to see how this soap opera plays itself out, as long as it will have me. Let’s just zip through the commercials; I need to make it to the big 5-0, lol.
