As someone with a varied hair history, I took note of Janine Turner’s first break as an actress on General Hospital way back in the day (as a blonde); she is best-known for her role on the CBS series Northern Exposure (as a brunette). She currently makes her living on the wingnut dinner circuit, touting her role as conservative political commentator and radio show host. Ms. Turner opined on race relations recently:
“Dr. King believed in a God who sees no man or woman of color but only His children….There is only one race: the human race. Ironically today, when America has her first African American president, the issue of race is being used as a source of divisiveness primarily by his own administration and his party, instead of being put to rest. The race card has not been rejected. It has been revitalized. This was not Dr. King’s dream,” Turner writes.
It’s all Obama’s fault, as time after time, the racism of the GOP is unveiled over and over. Right.
But one of my favorite hapless essays by Turner is “Girlfriends, Let’s Talk About How to Convert a Democrat.” She instructs conservative women on how they should address the war on women/womb controlling being foisted on the American public by her party when talking to Democrats. GIRLFRIENDS has been turned into an acronym for schooling her peeps:
G: Get Reasonable. Want to teach your children that laws don’t matter? Be a Democrat.
I: Informed on Phony Contraception Battle. Want your children to lose their religious freedom? Be a Democrat.
R: Republicans Are the Women’s Party. Want your daughter to be constrained by government? Be a Democrat.
L: Legislative Liberty Is Lost. Want your child to live under tyranny? Be a Democrat.
F: Fuel and Energy Policies Are a Farce. Want your child’s transportation to be a horse? Be a Democrat.
R: Return Women to the Workforce. Want your daughter to live off the government? I: Insolvency — Sinking in a Sea of Debt. Want your child to live in debt, hounded by creditors? Be a Democrat.

E: Entitlement Society — “Give me Liberty and Gimme, Gimme!” Want your child to be dependent on other people’s money? Be a Democrat.
N: National Security — We Are Vulnerable. Want to teach your child it’s okay to be bullied? Be a Democrat.
D: Darkness — Democrats Want Us to Be in the Dark. Want your child to sit in the dark? Be a Democrat.
S: Sick — Our Health Care Will Soon Be Hopeless.
This landed in the inbox…the GOP star is heading to King County, Washington for a right-wing con (it’ll set you back $250 for the VIP Reception/Dinner), and it looks like she’s going for the Callista Gingrich ‘do these days.
