“You know, I don’t agree with all the people who support me and my guess is they don’t all agree with everything I believe in,” Romney said. “But I need to get 50.1% or more and I’m appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people.”
–Mitt Romney, on why birther Donald Trump isn’t going to be thrown under his GOP Clown Car
I guess Mitt Romney is admitting that he can’t attract enough independent voters, so he has to count on every single fringe element of the Republican base. He’s already clinging on to the homophobes, but I can’t believe he can’t even toss over the g-d birthers. Come on, Mittens. Are your policies so weak that you can’t convince enough SANE people to vote for you? Um, never mind.
Donald Trump — really. What does he bring to the table as a net positive?
Mitt Romney made clear this week he won’t cut ties with Donald Trump, who is hosting a fundraiser for the candidate in Las Vegas on Tuesday, despite the real estate mogul’s claims the president was born in Kenya. Trump returned the favor by launching into yet another screeching birther diatribe on CNBC the morning of the event.
“I never really changed — nothing’s changed my mind,” Trump told CNBC, reassuring that his birtherism is as rock solid as it was last year when he briefly led Republican primary polling. “And by the way, you know, you have a huge group of people. I walk down the street and people are screaming, ‘Please don’t give that up.’ Look, a publisher came out last week and had a statement about Obama given by them to Obama when he was doing a book as a young man a number of years ago in the ’90s: ‘Born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia.’”
…“I’ve been known as being a very smart guy for a long time,” he said. “I don’t consider myself birther or not birther, but there are some major questions here that the press doesn’t want to cover. Now, if that were somebody else they’d be covering it and they’d be throwing people out of office, but they don’t want to cover it.”
The Romney campaign has got to rethink this plan. Not that I care whether they self-immolate, but is there any anyone running that camp with common sense? They basically handed the Obama campaign a not-break-a-sweat ad:

The urban dictionary definition of a birther is pretty funny and it also seems to be dead-on about Trump!
——————————-
Birther 1784 up, 790 down
A sore loser who happens to also be racist and have a brain no larger than a peanut. They also have exceptionally large mouths and an utter inability to understand basic facts.
This term is usually employed to those people who possess the aforementioned characteristics who actually believe that president Barack Obama, a half-black Hawaiian, was born in Kenya. They also have the delusion that President Obama won’t release his birth certificate to the public, despite the fact that no other president has actually been asked to and he actually has it posted, like, all over the internet. Since a fundamental quality of a birther is that he or she cannot understand basic facts, they reject the fact that it exists and go on, contented, that he is spending millions to hide it.
Does that guy really reject this proposition despite the overwhelming evidence that it is true? What a birther!
