Not much to say, other than for those of you out there who have recently lost your mom,  or those whose mother has passed on some time ago, this is often a bittersweet day. Of course if you had a horrible relationship with her, this day probably evokes complex feelings (thankfully I had a good one with mine). And for people out there planning to do something nice with your mom today, enjoy.

These photos are from my mom’s wedding day, July 6, 1958, held at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, NY. My parents moved to North Carolina (after a pit stop in Arizona while he was in the military). I came along in 1963, my brother Tim in 1968.
