Apparently nothing, according to election officials in an article about the controversy in the StarNewsOnline.com. A sign at the Devon Park United Methodist Church polling site (precinct W28, 3403 Winston Blvd) in Wilmington, NC is beyond the buffer zone of “between 25 and 50 feet from the entrance to a polling place” where there can be no campaign literature or advertising displayed or distributed. The church has a Facebook page. Eleven out of the 43 polling places in New Hanover County are churches.

Only in America with it’s ridiculous number of churches could anyone think it would be a good idea to vote in a church in a first place.
Unfortunately, there is no penalty for breaking the rules and lying, as our opponents’ actions illustrate every time.
