From the “You just can’t make this sh** up” file, via CNN‘s Santorum’s War On Teleprompters:
Republican Rick Santorum has for quite a while taken issue with candidates on the trail who use a teleprompter. It’s a dig on President Barack Obama, and more recently has been used to attack Mitt Romney – a man who’s also been known to use a prompter or two. But campaigning along the Gulf Coast in the Tuesday primary state of Mississippi, Santorum took it a step further, saying use of the digital word machine should be outlawed. “See, I always believed that when you run for president of the United States, it should be illegal to read off a teleprompter,” Santorum said at a Gulfport restaurant. “Because all you’re doing is reading someone else’s words to people.”
Will someone please explain to me how Senator Santorum came to be considered a serious candiate for President? Please?

What about the free market, Rick? Why do you want the Hand of The Federal Government interfering in the teleprompter market? Shouldn’t the free market rule here? Or are you for a larger federal government.
What a stupid person.
Someone wrote words on note cards! OTHER PEOPLE’S WORDS! Note cards should be OUTLAWED!
jeeez…
goodgodalmighty – we really are circling the drain
“Because all you’re doing is reading someone else’s words to people.”
what the hell you doing with that damn bible? Idiot.
And why do so many people wonder why Rick Santorum can not win the general election?
Mirror please.
We don’t have enough laws, let’s have some more since that apparently reduces the size of the government in GOP logic. It’s almost like “Through the Looking Glass” with them, isn’t it?
PENS
and PENCILS
Illegal too!!!eleven!!!!!!
We voted Santorum out of the Senate 59% to 41%, which usually wouldn’t bide well for national election chances.
That said, Romney has more delegates than the rest of the candidates combined. I think it’s likely that he’ll win the Republican nomination.
So, how about “freedom,” and “liberty,” and getting the government out of our business, and state’s rights, and all that. Exactly where in the Constitution does it say that the government has the right to outlaw teleprompters?
Considering some of the untethered and inflammatory garbage that comes out of his mouth, perhaps he would be better off reading prepared words from a teleprompter.
um….can someone just please jiggle the handle please?
If that don’t do it, I’ll go get the plunger cause it looks like the santorum is backing up in the pipes!
And next time GOP? Just have them play through a season of Survivor. Should help.
Outlawing a teleprompter is nonsense. Santorum hasn’t thought this through.
It would be to Santorum’s benefit having images of his opponent using that crutch to respond to a tough question. And there will be plenty of such images out and about. Even without comment, the image alone can amount to a sly suggestion.
Then Santorum can ask whether a teleprompter would “decide” whether or not to press “the button” in a crisis.
And yet hasn’t all this gotten to be a stale issue by now?
