Which part of civil marriage is unclear to you? Oh, the entire part? Too bad. The state understands it and that understanding becomes clearer by the day.

Leave it to a bigot to presume that HIS religion is the only REAL religion. Whether I believe in a supreme being is quite irrelevant here. What’s relevant is that there are religious denominations that hold the view that the important thing in a marriage is love and commitment, rather than the genders of the partners. If you have a right to your views, they most certainly have a right to theirs. That is why our laws are not supposed to favor one religion over another.

The concept of “walk a mile in someone else’s shoes” is just inconceivable to people like him.
