Well, this does help explain how Pastor Ken Hutcherson could even contemplate the violent imagery necessary to liken Gov. Gregoire to President Lincoln’s Assassin. According to his new website, Ken Hutcherson’s got blood lust. A strange way to worship the Prince of Peace.
Ken HutchersonWelcome to the Hutchpost!
How would you like to be a big black man who is conservative, friends with the likes of Dr. James Dobson and Rush Limbaugh, someone who believes that there are no mistakes in the Bible, doesn’t care what people think of him, thinks the only way to make your enemy a friend is to defeat them or kill them, thinks it is okay for prisoners to be executed, thinks that the human race is at the top of the food chain, thinks it is okay to drill for oil in our own country, to kick illegals out of that same country, and thinks it’s okay to enjoy life?
I am about infusing the culture with biblical truth, where ever and whenever I can no matter what the cost…
Join me as we explore God’s Biblical Blueprint for an ordered, just and fair society.
Hutcherson is the official spokesperson for the coalition opposing Washington’s marriage equality bill.

Well, I suppose this is actually a Biblical viewpoint. Very Old Testament of him. Not very Christ-like, but why start worrying about that now?
This is the problem so many Christians have. Their Bible is very contradictory, as is their God. No wonder they often have a lot of confusion about how to behave in society. It’s a fairly schizophrenic worldview if you ask me.
Well, that attitude sort of makes evangelism a dead end, doesn’t it? Odd view for an evangelical.
if someone from our side had said something like that, there would be screams and dramatic wails of death threats from the Christianists, television docucrams and a fund drive
Exactly, Maura! The religious reicht and TeaBirchers have for decades demanding the *special* right to say and do whatever it takes to change the government into their fantasy world of totalitarian theocracy and a Second Gilded Age, but then scream, whine and throw a tantrum, claiming “oppression” when progressives and liberals stand up to the bullies!
Have you read the Bible and the extreme violence it contains? (and not just the OT. Jesus isn’t that much better) Anyone who takes that crap literally is in danger of become a sociopath
And “prince of peace”? Not according to sweet, gentle Jesus himself:
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household. Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”
- Matthew 10:34-37
Welcome to Hutcherson’s muscular and incoherent christianity. My favorite part of the site is the mixed messages it sends. While Hutch says “the only way to make your enemy a friend is to defeat them or kill them” talking about himself, in the “ABC’s of “Same-Sex Marriage” he says “First, we love all persons. We hate no one. To disagree with someone is NOT to hate them”. True, but the killing part seems pretty extreme and hateful, n’est pas?
If Hutch really believes defeating or killing someone is the way to secure their friendship, I’d recommend some remedial Relationship Skills work. I think Mohandas Gandhi was on the right track when he said “Whenever you are confronted with an opponent. Conquer him with love.”
Rev. Hutcherson’s blog is somewhat, if unintentionally, hilarious, at least. He’s not just a nutjob regarding LGBT people. Last month, for example, he railed about how unfair it was that the HOV lanes near Seattle require three people, and incited his readers to contact the “Nazis” (yes, his word) at the Washington State Department of Transportation to complain. And he actually then went on to parody Dr. King’s famous speech with: “The HOV lanes had a dream that between 10 am and 3 pm they would be free! Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, says the HOV lane, I’m free at last!”
