Friend of the Blend, San Diego-based AIDS and LGBT activist Mike Tidmus passed away at 60  on Sunday. The news was reported on his Facebook page by a family member:

“My name is Lindsay Tidmus, Mike’s brother. It is with a heavy heart that I inform his Facebook friends of Mike’s passing. He left us this morning after a battle with cancer.”

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mike, though we corresponded quite a bit, and he contributed many wry, stinging, and on-target political graphics to the blog. He did this wonderful one as a tribute to PHB:
