Brains…BRAINS! Teh Gay Activists® are “kidnapping the brains” of California’s kids! It must be true because Randy Thomasson of Save California said so in a Fox 40 video! …umm, right?
From Thomasson’s interview with Fox 40 regarding California Senate Bill 48 (SB48), the FAIR Education Act (emphasis added):
“Any day of the week starting in January, children as young as kindergarten will be told that a homosexual, a bisexual, or even a cross-dresser or someone who has had healthy body parts in a sex-change operation cut off – that this is a positive role model. They’re not going to be told that it’s unhealthy; they’re not going to be told, well is this natural or is this a matter of environment. They won’t be told it. So, there’s no critical thinking.
“This is basically the gay activists kidnapping the brains of the kids, and the parents have no say whatsoever.”
At least Teh Gay Activists® aren’t eating brains like undead zombies, right?
Well, to paraphrase Equality California‘s take on SB48, the Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful (FAIR) Education Act amended the Education Code to include social sciences instruction on the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. The bill prohibits discriminatory instruction and discriminatory materials from being adopted by the State Board of Education.
And seriously, any public school educated child in California who doesn’t learn something about the Stonewall Riots and Uprising, the Compton Cafeteria Riot, Harvey Milk, Sylvia Rivera, Cecilia Chung, and Vicki Estrada at some point in his, her, or hir schooling has been let down by the California education system.
So “gay activists kidnapping the brains of the kids” via SB48 becoming law…really? Please.
Umm, but in the meantime…BRAINS!

These are the same people who kidnap the brains of children by encouraging home schooling, who have pushed the Girl Guides/Scouts out of communities in favour of “American Heritage Girls” and the traditionalist roles of women as breeders, cleaners and sex toys, right?
They are the gang who deny global warming and modern medicine, at least the parts of it that find as a medical fact that gays, Lesbians and trans people are the products of innate wiring, right?
The ones that say only their brand of christianity is the true path and insist upon teaching kids that elitism?
The ones who shouted down a Wiccan chaplain in Congress because it is not a “real” religion?

I’m quite disappointed that the station (One of my local newscasts, actually) didn’t have both the people on at the same time to debate the issue, rather than letting him spout his lies about the bill (and AFTER the pro-FAIR guy was on so he is unable to counter said lies.)

Speaking of “cutting off healthy body parts” is Thomasson also against Routine Infant Circumcision? Or is it OK to cut healthy body parts off other people who are too young & helpless to resist?
Way to become more irrelevant in California conservatives! At 31 percent of the electorate in California, I would think that the Republicans should be reaching out rather than hating on everybody not white, hetero and Christian.
This is the silliest damn thing I’ve ever heard of. These loonies can’t stand the idea of anyone actually having knowledge. They should be worrying about their own brain power. Idiots.

Hey, as long as the California GOP can get over a third of the state legislature, they can basically dictate state policy. It comes from these little things called “raging abuses of the initiative process” and “near-Bolshevik levels of party discipline”.

And you want to know why they are so unhappy when we kidnap children’s brains? Because we teach them to THINK, rationally and clearly, then set them free to become *gasp!!* people able see through the lies being peddled by “Save” California and other ideological bigots.

I almost laughed out loud when Thomasson talks about the purpose of history is to learn lessons of the past and learn about what was wise and good vs. wicked and foolish. Did he even realize that he’s talking about the exact reason why GLBT figures should be included. It’s to learn lessons about our past and the wise and good from it. As to the wicked and foolish, I’m sure kids will be learning about that when they study Thomasson and NOM and other anti-gay organizations both now and definitely in the coming years.
As to the gays are diseased claims, that has to do with education, too. The reason for infection of HIV or ANY disease is due to lack of education (and lack of self-esteem caused by invisibility of GLBT people who have contributed to society. [duh!]). HIV infection doesn’t happen because your gay, it happens because your not educated about how to protect yourself from infection or you are educated by your careless about implementing what you know when you need to. HIV has nothing to do with demographics and does not discriminate about who it infects. The only discrimination related to HIV is the foolishness that comes out of the mouths of folks like Thomasson, which reminds me of the Bible; when Jesus talked about the only thing that defiles the body is what comes out of it!
Knowledge is bad, Twain. People with knowledge make choices; which is why the Abrahamic God’s Little Book scapegoats Eve.
