mark mclaurin?Hmmm… the same Mark McLaurin who referred to trans people as “circus freaks?” I know that he made an apology, a sincere one in fact, but it’s somewhat troubling that this is the best that the community can do.
At any rate, I wish them well and I hope they have more success in getting trans-related legislation passed than past groups have.
“Circus freaks?” Excuse me, please. We don’t use that epithet here at Pam’s House Blend. We prefer, “People of WalMart.”
Well played.
stop the threadjackingtake it to the appropriate diary, or write a new one on that topic if you wish, but please stick to the subject of this diary when you write a comment in this diary.
Wow! That didn’t take 3 days!Things are getting awfully rigid hereabouts, aren’t they?
But since you brought it up, I surely do wish that every time we have a topic posted of particular interest to the LGB’s, and it is immediately trashed by complaints by trans people about how awful the LBG’s are, that you and other “barristas” would apply the same standard. I just don’t get how that works. Or doesn’t. Clark seems to be a particular target these days, but maybe that’s because he’s been posting a lot about gay rights and political topics recently.
Oh well, I shan’t be soiling your diary further, then. Adios.
I’m quite pleased to see African American leaders represented. Mark McLaurin, Reverend Meredith Moise, and Bonnita Spikes are all well respected and influential leaders.
This action lends legitimacy to the organization.
People with a Walmart historyis the correct terminology.
Please don’t call them Walmartyr.

It Is Good To See And with Equality Maryland looking like it’s going down in flames it’s good to see other organizations being formed to fill the void.
