LOLPam, I think Peter is begging for the “help, we’re being oppressed” graphic. Is it possible in this country to criticize a Republican who is not a Christian? If there are any non-Christian Republicans out there, they’re closeted for life.
The timing is kind of funny.Yesterday Massachusetts celebrated 5 years since they passed the nations first healthcare reform law. You know, the one Governor Romney signed? He was invited to the festivities, but declined to participate. I wonder why? :p This is just one of the anchors that’ll keep Mitt from gaining the nomination. Meanwhile better than 98% of Massachusetts citizens now have health insurance.
Mitt would be preferable to any other viable GOP candidate.Which is not to say I like anything about him. But on the available evidence, he seems to be a pragmatic politician, not an ideologue. He signed off on gay marriage in MA, and as noted above he endorsed health care reform. Mitt would be liveable-with, which is more than I can say for any of his GOP rivals. If his party had any sense, he’d get the nomination. Which means he won’t.
He also insistedthat MA enforce that ridiculous law that you have to be a resident if your marriage is illegal in your home state.
