So much to read into this….hahaha, from Right Wing Watch:
Just today we noted that Joyner, Jerry Boykin, and Janet Porter were gathering for a conference next month and as I was looking for more information about that, I stumbled across this video of Perkins, Joyner, Boykin and Frank Turek discussing the importance of Christians getting deeply involved in politics.Perkins explains the absolute necessity of getting Christians into all levels of government while Boykin compared Christians today to the Spartan army and quoted King Leonidas by declaring “molon labe” ["come and get them"] when he and his army were told to lay down their weapons.
…Joyner announced that Christians have more than enough people to take control, but they need to bind together and, as such, would soon be unveiling coalition called “300″
Will they come to the fight nude, the naughty bits free for all to see? Scratch that – I don’t want to see a declothed, bible-beating, sword-wielding Tony Perkins.

Could they have possibly picked a worse role model?The Spartans weren’t opposed to same-sex relationships as long as the people also fulfilled their duty to produce children. Warriors were always in high demand. As such, polygamy wasn’t that uncommon either.
Strong women were believed to give birth to strong sons. As such they were well fed, educated and expected to physically train the same way as boys when young. That also includes either being naked or sparsely clothed. Compared to other Greek women, they had a great deal of freedom and influence behind the scenes, even if they were officially barred from political offices. They were also allowed to own and inherit land.
The Spartans were the anti-thesis of anything Christian
So they are comparing themselves…… with a heathen culture that venerated militarism above all else? That held slaves as common property (socialism!!) in such numbers and under such brutal conditions that militarism had to be the principal focus of society to stave off slave revolts? That held manliness in such esteem that male homosexuality was the expectation and pederasty was the norm for older soldiers teaching younger? That routinely performed animal sacrifices before battle so that the gods would smile favorably upon them?
To call these people “ignorant” would be a grave insult to the uneducated.
But……who were the Spartans defeated by in the Battle of Leuctra, which signaled their permanent decline in status?

If they are so gung-ho about the Bible being the literal, inerrant, everlasting and unchanging Holy Word of God, why the bloody Hell won’t they just SHUT UP?
What would you expectThey get their history lessons from watching movies because they certainly aren’t reading history books!
Don’t forget……the infanticide of Spartan children that didn’t measure up physically and that children left their mothers to be raised communally by the state in the agoge military training system.
Isn’t stuff like this what they accuse liberals of supposedly wanting?
One of the books of the Maccabees (I forget offhand which one)claims that Sparta was originally founded as a Hebrew colony. So in a squirrelly way this makes a kind of sense. I guess.
