There’s no special reason for the photo other than what I said on Facebook and Twitter:
Not exactly a bucket list item, but I’ve always wanted to have a pair of purple shoes. These are Easy Spirit Okras; they arrived today. With my neuropathy it’s hard to find any good shoes, let alone neat purple ones. I may not be able to wear sexy shoes anymore, so I have to go with eclectic![]()
I have a couple of patterned dresses with purple in them, so when I return to work part-time next week I will be stylin’ (in comfort, of course). I still can’t wear regular pants or jeans; my post-surgery abdomen doesn’t like them, so it will be mostly dresses, tunics and leggings for me for a while.

The debate over on The Economistbetween Evan Wolfson and Maggie Srivistav has wrapped up. She made a complete lying fool of herself. Apart from the few trolls, the comments section has turned into something of a public shaming ground for her.
The Michigan football coach situationis the uppermost problem on my mind.
We fired DickRod, and it seems that the leading candidate for the position, former UM quarterback Jim Harbaugh is leaning toward coaching in the pros, in spite of a very generous offer from the school.
The second choice for the position, Les Miles (a former asst. coach at Michigan) is coaching the LSU Tigers in the Cotton Bowl and he’s more than acceptable but we really can’t talk to him until after the bowl game tomorrow.
Which leaves us with San Diego State coach Brady Hoke (a former Michigan Asst. coach) who wants the job…everybody knows that.
Just a hot mess in Ann Arbor, Michigan right now.
The purple Okras……are MUCH better/more stylin’ for your image, y’know.
I mean… what Earth Mother/Spirit Goddess wears Dolce & Gabanna??

Honey, the purple shoes are FABULOUS!!!Purple is my favorite color. I’m a guy and I don’t do drag or anything, but except for maybe Converse basketball shoes back in the 70s, I don’t think I’ve ever seen purple men’s shoes. I’ve just added an item to my bucket list: Before I die, I will own a pair of purple shoes.
Out and OutSteve Buckley, a longtime sports columnist for the Boston Herald, comes out. Everybody, including Curt Schilling, says, “we had no idea.” I’m not familiar with this guy’s work, actually, but is it wrong to say my gaydar pinged when I saw his picture?
It’s yesterday’s news already, but I’ll admit to watching the three unredacted videos that have been posted on MilitaryTimes starring the former executive officer (and just-fired CO) of USS Enterprise, Owen Honors. The compilation on the Virginia Pilot, which originally broke the story, was so heavily blurred and bleeped, and loaded so slowly, that a lot of people probably didn’t bother watching.
“XO Movie Night 2″ is unintentionally educational because the first half actually demonstrates what a ship’s media department usually does: there’s one piece about a visit from local dignitaries; one showing “photos of the week” about recent goings-on which probably gives those pictured a morale boost; and one on the Damage Control Training Team practicing during General Quarters. Then at the 6:20 minute mark comes Honor’s Follies, complete with sailors in bed together, simulated feces eating, and the XO having sex with a donkey in his stateroom (“I don’t think that’s legal”). If you like sophomoric humor, you WILL laugh. I’ve read that over half the crew is comprised of teenagers. Too bad Capt. Honors wanted to be their friend instead of their leader.
Love those purple shoes Pam! Not Prada I know but still cool.
lovely shoeslovely pair of purple shoes..

GO BLUE, Kev!I’ve been a Michigan fan since the glory days of of Bo vs Woody.
I thought is was a huge mistake to hire Rodriguez, and Michigan paid the price.
I’m really hoping Harbaugh takes the job and restructures the office. His record speaks for itself, both on the field as a player at UM and in the pros, and now his record as a coach.
I’m glad the darkest days in Michigan football history are over, and here’s to sunnier days ahead. I also helps that some of OSU’s best got caught in a scandal, too! >smirk<
Don’t get me started on DickRod, Marlenethat could trigger more than a few TOS violations here at the Blend.
Anywho, the latest is that Stanford QB (and possible 2011 Heisman candidate) will remain at Stanford.Jim Harbaugh is meeting meeting with Stanford officials today after apparently turning down the Dolphins and that grass eater, Leslie Edwin Miles is coaching LSU in the Cotton Bowl today. I’ll take The Mad Hatter as Michigan coach any day.
Here’s a treat for you

I love those shoes!! Probably do not have them in size 12 though.
Sigh.
Who knowsYou might start a fashion trend for the Reality-Based Community.
Harbaugh leaves StanfordHe just signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
Yeah, interesting that Michigan’s offerwas actually better than the 49ers.
Harbaugh wanted to go pro.
On to Les!
