Holy mother of dog, this is the Texas GOP in 2010. This guy is referred to as “Constitutionalist Pastor” Stephen Broden. (Dallas Morning News):
Republican congressional candidate Stephen Broden stunned his party Thursday, saying he would not rule out violent overthrow of the government if elections did not produce a change in leadership. In a rambling exchange during a TV interview, Broden, a South Dallas pastor, said a violent uprising “is not the first option,” but it is “on the table.” That drew a quick denunciation from the head of the Dallas County GOP, who called the remarks “inappropriate.”
Broden, a first-time candidate, is challenging veteran incumbent Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson in Dallas’ heavily Democratic 30th Congressional District. Johnson’s campaign declined to comment on Broden.
In the interview, Brad Watson, political reporter for WFAA-TV (Channel 8), asked Broden about a tea party event last year in Fort Worth in which he described the nation’s government as tyrannical.
“We have a constitutional remedy,” Broden said then. “And the Framers say if that don’t work, revolution.”
I love the soft sell response by the county chair — “inappropriate” LOLOLOL. WTF!? Bring on the crazeee…
Also in June 2009, Broden compared those governing the United States to Nazi Germany.
“Let me tell you that is something that happened in Germany when the Jews were walking into the furnaces and they didn’t even try to stop or fight their way. They walked in because they did not believe that this was happening. They didn’t believe that humanity could be so evil. I am submitting to you tonight that is where America is right now. They are our enemies and we must resist them.”News 8 wanted to know if Broden was trying to say that Barack Obama is like Adolph Hitler. “No I am not,” he said Thursday.

“he would not rule out violent overthrow of the government”And this clown is not under arrest………..WHY?
When last I checked, advocating the violent overthrow of the government was not covered under freedom of speech.
And a whole new file is opened at the FBI and Treasury DepartmentThese people are really insane, aren’t they?
Yea, He’s Flippin ScaryBeing from the Dallas area I am NO fan of Eddie Bernice Johnson and she probably will go to jail for her malfeasance BUT this is the face of the Texas Republican Party people.
They have rewritten the history books, want felony convictions for anyone trying to obtain, issuing or solemnizing a same sex marriage license, believe that women are best served by obeying their husbands and want to outlaw choice and contraception.
And before I forget, Texas doesn’t execute enough guilty people. Because if they weren’t guilty they wouldn’t be accused of a crime.
I’m not happy with the Dems but I’m frightened of the alternative.
sweet baby jeebus at the alamo with davy crockett……with texas getting so close to purple, we STILL have to deal with this crazee…and gohmert (my poor librul 75-YO parents’ “representative”)…
I’m not saying Broden is like Hitler, but . . . . . . Hitler pandered to Germany’s conservative Christians by opposing everything they claimed was ruining the “Fatherland”.
This helped make him extremely popular. He had the blessing of the Vatican. Hitler was raised as a Catholic, received a Christian education, and at one time wanted to be a priest.
Our tyranny of Christian conservatism today resembles (remarkably) the Christian Right Movement of pre-WWII Germany.
Hitler said, “I am fighting for the work of the lord”. And, nobody ‘walked’ into flaming ovens. If you were suitable for slave labor, you got a real shower, If not, you got a shower of poison gas. Oh, and Hitler overthrew the government-but I’m not saying . . . .
OMFG!I was born in Tyler and still have lot’s of family there. It’s sad because they love him. I call him Pig F**ker.

man, you’re screwed on both frontsJohnson, as you said, is probably going to the clink for that college scholarship scandal (giving her relatives $$$ who didn’t even qualify for the scholarships, never mind the nepotism). And this guy is a whackadoodle with a whole movement behind him. That’s out of control.
Where is the FBI on this?
You see that’s why a part of me want the Republicans to win at least the HouseWe know that these folks are being used. The New York Times and Think Progress have done an excellent job documenting this. As much as I hate to say it, the Republicans winning at least one house in Congress would be a way for the anger to abate and folks to reflect on how stupid they have acted.
If the Dems manage to keep their majority, you know that things are going to get worse. I hate thinking like that but it seems that this is what it is coming to.
Plus I don’t think the Republicans can do anything but shoot themselves in the foot.
Exactly what Secretary Napolitano was warning us aboutand yet the “Farce Advocate” made her qualify and weaken her position.
I agree, Committee Chairperson Bachmannwould in the end help move the country back to the left when they finally get a taste of what an unbridled Right wants to actually do
Which is what I think Obama’s master plan was from the beinning; the only way for the President to get re-elected is for the Republican to gain control of one or both houses and frighten the hell out of the country
“Inappropriate” Is that what the Republicans are calling treason nowadays?Once again we see that if you are a wealthy, white conservative Christian, the law does not apply to you. Had this very same statement been made by a Muslim or someone of a racial minority, you can bet your last nickle that the GOP would not be calling this “inappropriate.”
I wonder what Tommy J. had to say on the matter.
Oh… Right… That…
Treason never prospers…For if it does, none dare call it treason.
We’ll see after November 2 how prosperous the GOP is, and how prosperous the Dems are.
So if the Left losesit is all right and appropriate for us to resort to force of arms to seek redress? Or does that right only appertain unto the Tea Baggers?
U.S. national policy these days:Violent overthrow of the government, by the military and/or right-wing militia, is the U.S.-approved response to anyone insufficiently corporate and right-wing being elected. Just look at our behavior in Latin America.
Treason knows no party. You seem to have a blind spot for the treasons of the Left.
If (read: When) the Left loses in November, then that which was formerly called prosperous under their watch can once again more properly be called treason.
Must be the idealist in mein having a bias to the left while the Right is trying to exterminate me
Ditto from the flip sideMust be my biases to the Right while the Left is trying to exterminate the American Republic and replace it with Mob-ocracy or some farcical European-style Socialist Utopia.
I wonder what the Left-Wing media has to say on the matter.http://www.mediaite.com/tv/dyl…
“Are things in our country so bad that it might actually be time for a revolution? The answer is obviously ‘yes.’” — MSNBC’s Rylan Ratigan
Quoting John Locke, [/The Anti-American Manifesto/ author Ted] Rall argues that “the people have an obligation to revolt,”
Oh… That…
