I'm still a little lightheaded after seeing this:
This is from Operation Black Storm. You won't believe it but it's a pitch to elect black conservatives to Congress.
From People for the American Way:
Patriot PAC has unveiled Operation Black Storm, a national coalition effort to unite the nation behind the 15 black conservative congressional candidates running in key districts around the country as Republican nominees for the upcoming November elections.
Helping to lead the charge among the Tea Party and Patriot movement in America for substantive political reform, Operation Black Storm will fight to fundamentally reshape the makeup of the U.S. Congress on November 2, 2010.
. . . This coalition has put its collective weight behind these highly qualified conservative black candidates to provide the resources and exposure they need to win on Election Day. Coalition members helping with voter education and candidate scorecards include Break the Bonds of Tyranny, Unite in Action, The ConservativeMESSENGER, The Frederick Douglass Foundation, and The Black Sphere, among others.
And the kicker? On the website under the above videos are the pictures of the 15 black conservatives wanting to be elected behind this mess. Call it what you want, but I say it's an endorsement of the insane, paranoid message in the video.
And by the way, this isn't a joke. There are legitimate organizations pushing this. The Frederick Douglass Foundation claims to be
. . . a public policy and educational organization which brings the sanctity of free market and limited government ideas to bear on the hardest problems facing our nation. We are a collection of pro-active individuals committed to developing innovative and new approaches to today's problems with the assistance of elected officials, scholars from universities and colleges and community activist.
Black Sphere is an extreme right-wing blog/organization.
And Conservative Messenger seems to be an organization run by one man, K. Carl Smith, who “claims” to espouse the free labor system of government
Quite simply, this is the most God-awful piece of crap I have ever seen in my life. It goes beyond the ideas of respecting black conservatives simply because they have a difference of opinion when it comes to the majority of the African-American community when it comes to the ballot box.
It's like a mad scientist crossed the DNA of a stereotypical Uncle Tom with that of a stereotypical House Negro, made clones, weaned them all on Fox News and then sent them out loose in the world.
I think we need holy water and 15 copies of The Autobiography of Malcolm X.
If that doesn't work, nothing will.

Given the NOM-esque ‘A Storm is Brewing’ opening, are you sure its not a joke?
Oh it’s no joke. I don’t think they meant for it to be a joke but mercy! And I have investigated the organizations behind it.
Way over the top batsh*tteryMy jaw was on the table. I didn’t think it could get any more deranged, but then it just kept escalating. And TARP – that was Bush – how did that get heaped on Obama?
Notice after the segment on Revolutionary War Liberty, they conveniently skipped over slavery.
if government isn’t the hope,as it says at the end of the video, then why should we elect 15 more candidates into it?
also, i love this equation of economic theory and the divine:
but really, all i can say is: BWHAHAHA! omg, somebody is a frustrated maker of epic films i’m guessing.
My husband…who earns his living as a film composer, watched this with me. The music is pretty bad, but you can bet that this website has used this music without the composer’s permission and without payment for the composer’s work.
It boggles the mind that someone would feel the need to go to racismThere are so many substantive criticisms one can make of Obama (corruption, unconstitutional activity, impotence, immorality) that it seems that someone needing to stoop to a racist appeal is the sign of a weak mind.
How the hell do you save someone. From so much stupid?
Have these people EVER taken an American Civic course beyond the bullshit snake oil that Beck sells?
Seriously, how stupid can you be?
Progressives are Maoist, Nazi dictators that are going to kill you off if you don’t vote teabagger! RWARRRR! Be afraid!
I hope to God this video gets to Steven Colbert. Wonderful fodder for his Rally to keep fear alive.
How do you have a civil conversation with people that are that far GONE?
Not nearly as dumb as…Your accusation of racism. The left is morally bankrupt, they have no ideas, they have nothing to offer, they have reduced themselves to screaming RACISM!
The add is certainly extreme, but nothing in it implies racial prejudice. The liberals will be out of power, Obama will be a lame duck, and the Democrats will need to spend the next decade or so systematically removing the race hustler from their midst.
I think its hilarious that you want to wash away the imagined prejudice with the Autobiography of Malcolm X, who was in fact an actual racist.
Wow!The country is bankrupt and the Race Card is maxed out, but the DNC Plantation keeps swiping it through like mad. How sad that the best response is “Raaaaaacist!”.
And immediately …… the racists complain about your post.
It’s that “card”-playing again –As it’s been pointed out here and elsewhere, the “race card” is hardly a trump and seems to have almost no power these days. However, the “playing the race card” card is enjoying more popularity and pull than ever, as the two comments above yours demonstrate.
Oh please.Perhaps if the slavish workers on the DNC Plantation, like Pam, didn’t scream “RACIST” at everything and everybody that clearly aren’t, it wouldn’t have lost its meaning. C’mon. What was “racist” about the video, other than LBJ and the War on Poverty?
“Notice after the segment on Revolutionary War Liberty, they conveniently skipped over slavery.”
I couldn’t agree more, Pam. They needed to highlight how the democreeps fought long and hard to keep it. Although, that would probably take, at least, a whole other film.
I see I have drawn a reactionLet me try to explain this for SOME PEOPLE: creating a video which compares the President to historical dictators and mass murderers in an effort to elect black conservatives while featuring various parts of history (excluding slavery) and mostly featuring white people does have racial overtones.
Also, try reading the Autobiography of Malcolm X, particularly his thinking after his journey to Mecca. It’s interesting how some people claim that “pulling the racism card” no longer has any power. I wasn’t aware that pointing out racists had power because some of the powers that be do their best to stamp the voice out.
Okay TGCIt’s one thing to disagree, but you really are going to have to slow down with the insults.
One more thingTGC, you seem to be a flamer. It’s obvious that you signed up because you were offended by my post. Thanks for the compliment.
Today’s Democrats …… aren’t the Democrats of 1860. These people are the Republicans now. Southern Strategry, you know.
I wish it were true……that this was as racist as the anti-Obama vitriol gets, but I see worse almost every day.
So…So a video that compares Obama to Stalin is by definition racist? When people were comparing Bush to Hitler was that racist? I mean its extreme, melodramatic, kinda silly really, but racist?
You yourself point out that this “racist” video was made to elect black conservatives. How does that even work? How can a racist video be promoting minority politicians? That just makes no sense whatsoever unless you think that all conservatives are racist by definition, hence a black conservative is somehow also racist.
As for the video not including minorities, that is not true, they show a black girl writing a letter. They do avoid the topic of slavery, though it would fit nicely with Lincoln being a Republican and all, I suspect they did this so that people like yourself would not accuse them of racism, which you did anyway.
As for the power of an accusation of racism, its the worst thing you can accuse someone of in American politics. Worst than being a criminal or a pervert. A single racist statement can cost a politician, TV host, or journalist their career, and rightly so. Unfortunately some have used accusations of racism as a political bludgeon to run smear campaigns, by doing so they cry wolf, and when real actual racists come along, nobody will listen.
Oh, and this video is stupid and corny.
I don’t know about a weak mind, but…… definitely lazy and unimaginative. Then again, these are conservatives we are talking about, and they ain’t exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer to begin with.
First off, Obama can hardly be called leftHe is, at best, a centrist whose head is firmly up the ass of corporate special interests.
Second, you want to talk morally bankrupt? Let’s discuss the extreme hypocricy of the right, and the clear fact that many on the right ARE racists. Have you ever seen a tea-party rally? Or watch clips of Beck’s rally in DC? Or spent five minutes watching Bill O`Lielly or listening to Flush Limpballs?
Third, liberals — real liberals, not the “everyone barely half an inch to the left of my extremist right positions” stramwan that conservatives like to prop up when busy fundraising — have not held power in this country since the FDR administration.
Fourth, the existence black racists does not excuse or justify the existence of white racists.
“free labor system”
Where have I heard of a free labor system before?
Oh, that’s right, SLAVERY!
Thanks for the illustration. This is more or less what I was saying. No, I’m not agreeing with you.
Race card vs. race card card…Pointing out actual racism doesn’t seem to make muck political mileage these days. Complaining about being accused of being a racist (whether accurately or not), or accusing other people of making claims of racism too easily — playing the “playing the race card” card — though, has become a standard strategy.
A video that compares Obama to Stalinis one that is divorced from reality.
I would like someone to justify ANY comparisons to Stalin.
Are there great purges underway that we are not aware of?
Are Obama’s secret polic whisking away his political opponents in the night never to be heard from again?
Has Obama started a single war?
Has he opened Gulags in Alaska? (to date the only gulag currently in operation by the US was opened by his predecessor and Obama tried to close it)
What justifies ANY comparison with Stalin?
Racial overtones, yesbut the Most RACIST EVAH…
Still this ad is really, really, really bad with this terrifying music and it’s waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top.
They didn’t simply compare Obama to Hitler and Stalin (and, by the way, why did the yellow man, Mao, get the label as the most evil dictator ever….hmmmm…). They compared him to other “progressives” like the Roosevelts (one of which was Republican), Wilson, Carter, etc…
This is a jaw dropping video. but the most racist ever…no
Agreed, SciFi
What justifies ANY comparison with Stalin?Nothing, its nutty, but its not racist.
Comparisons of Bush to Hitler were equally nutty, if you think Bush was in any way comparable to freaken Hitler you need to be medicated, but it wasn’t a racist accusation, just a retarded one.
Also this video is not even specifically about Obama, I think its more against Democrats/liberals/Washington in general, there are only about 10-20 seconds total that attack him directly.
Not to mention…The ever more popular tactic of accusing somebody of accusing somebody of accusing somebody of racism. Or me accusing you of accusing me of accusing you of accusing me of racism.
I have to agree with zazu here…on the very narrow issue of whether it’s racist to compare Obama with Hitler.
Then what would it be to compare Bush or even, yes, Bill Clinton to Hitler?
And do read the link….Herbert Hoover and even John Kennedy was also compared to Hitler.
Now, are we seeing much more of this now that Obama is Presidetn? Yes. And there are strong racial overtones to that as well as new media technologies that abets a message like this in going viral a lot faster.
Hmmm….actually, both Clintons have been compared to Hitler
u miss the pointOf course the video doesn’t make sense to elect black conservatives but it’s there. Who do u think it was made for? Not the black voter. The semantics is that obama is an outsider or black boogeyman and those black conservatives are saviors or “good black people.” It demonstrates racial subtlety
Sorry, but……when Barack Obama worries about my sexual orientation, I’ll worry about his race. That may be ugly, but it’s exactly where he has driven me.
And for the record, I was one of the people who sent him a huge check and immediately began supporting him after Bill Clinton race-baited him in South Carolina.
I agree to an extentthat you have to examine the intent and function of this video to ascertain the racial subtelty.
But the MOST RACIST ever, as your headline states (after all, they are grouping Theodore Roosevelt with Stalin and Hitler and Mao too)?
I think the headline is as over the top as this video
Does that some of us out?what about us who have to worry about our sexual orientation AND race?
Point takenI did take dramatic license with the title which I don’t apologize for. To me the most racist thing one can do is to play people of the same race against one another.
No apology necessary but…that is a standard GOP/Dixiecrat practice, only, as a rule, they pit people of the same economic class against one another (and there’s a whiff of that here, actually).
And the GOP has carted out some Latinos who are for, say, the Arizona immigration law or who don’t like illegal (brown) immigrants too.
Same shit to me.
nauseating batshit histrionics wrapped in the stars-and-stripesAmong those not white-and-American portrayed in the video, most are evil: Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Saddam Hussein. They even chose a painting of George III which makes him look feminine. Then Hugo Chávez and Obama: not self-evidently evil, but portrayed as such.
Finally…yes, we do see a politically-aware black woman. Filmed in a studio!…though they already have live footage from Tea Party rallies. Hmm.
As for the overall effect: “stupid, corny” don’t begin to describe ignorance of such stupefying magnitude. Words which come to mind are “paranoid” (let’s throw in a pic of Woodrow Wilson! for the Glenn Beck crowd), and “21st-century Leni Riefenstahl, with music stolen from The Omen III.”
But not racist above-and-beyond-all. Fair enough.
Racism is at the core of the politics of both main parties and the Teabaggers. They all support racist wars against Arabs, Palestinians and South Asians.
They all support racist measures against imported and immigrant workers.
Neither party has taken measures to criminalize predatory loan practices whose victims are often Blacks, Latina/os and Pacific Islanders.
Malcolm X and other black nationalists are not racists in reverse. They’re reacting to the fact that racism is woven into the very fabric of American society and that it’s necessary to build a defense against it. Nationalism is, paraphrasing James Baldwin, a protective wall.

Techbear is mostly correct, except that all the leaders of the Democrat Party and their Republican cousins are right centrists. Obama is to the right of LBJ and Nixon except on the war question. Kucinich used to pretend to be a centrist but then he voted for Obama’s bailout of the HMOs and insurance companies. The Greens are left centrists.
Stand Against Racism, but Don’t Defend ObamaWe need to be clear about our positions. Just because right wingers attack the President does not mean we should blindly and uncritically support whatever Obama says or does. His equivocation on the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque”, his insistence on continuing the Bush policy of targeting Arabs and Muslims, his increase of the criminalization and militarization of immigration, his response to the racial profiling of Henry Louis Gates, his cowardly response to the racist attacks on Shirley Sherrod all make clear that Obama is NO leader in the fight against racism. And so WE must be.
Say No to Racism, but Don’t Defend Obama
Unless you subscribe to the bankrupt theory that criticism of Obama is racist this is not a particularly racist ad. It’s not like the birther ads or Hillary’s “I’ll get the white vote” crap in 2008 when she got desperate. Or the more blatant racism of Gingrich’s Kenya ‘connection’.
This ad is a lame rehash of the normal Teabag delusions. The Teabaggers irrelevant criticisms of Obama are eclipsed by the real life opinions of the 15,000,000 unemployed, the growing anger over the war and deepening economic depression (not recession, depression) and the rage of millions pauperized by his handouts and bailouts to the looter class.
On November 3rd the political landscape is going to be littered with the corpses of incumbent political careers. Anti-incumbency will likely hurt the Dems, who deserve to get beaten because they betrayed everyone but BP and Goldman Sachs.
The coming Republican-Teabag anti-incumbent Congress will do no better than the last Dem anti-incumbent Congress and in 2012 the Republicans and baggers will suffer for it. They’re as rancid and rightwing as their Dem cousins and even less popular, because they don’t bother lying about it.
Politics are going to be driven, not by Teabagger ads, but the casualties of Obama’s four wars, a deepening depression and relentlessly increasing mass unemployment, poverty and homelessness. Expect more environmental degradation and more global warming ‘events’.
Those are the issues that will make the 2012 elections as volatile as those of the Civil Rights/Vietnam era or the election of 1860.
Are you Barack Obama?I care very much about your race. And when you’re attacked for your race, you can count on my support.
When Barack Obama is attacked for his race, obviously you are an indirect victim, but he’s the target. And I’m sorry, but I’m not lifting a finger to help that backstabber with anything, whether it’s attacking him based on race, suppressing his free speech, interfering with his reproductive rights, or questioning his citizenship.
He’s on his on.
How’d I know you’d be in this threadWith a steaming bowl of copypasta directly from Derailing for Dummies as usual.
For realI have gotten Bingo about six times already and I’m only halfway through the comments.
I wonder if “I’m not a racist, I read Pam’s House Blend!” is a square yet.
For all those Liberal Race Bingo participants who “don’t see the racism”, as usualAsk yourself why there’s an “Operation Black Storm” to begin with.
Also ask yourself why teabaggers are always extremely quick to point out the three or four blacks/minorities that show up to their rallies.
Ask yourself why right wing Rethugs continually prop up people like Michelle Malkin and Armstrong Williams.
I’ll agree that in the scheme of things, there are far worse instances of racism among tea baggers. But this kind of shit is just the 21st century version of the Southern Strategy, and if you can’t see that, I feel sorry for you.
This isn’t PhD level calculus. It’s simple 1st grade arithmetic.
Sorry, But the Southern Strategy is a myth created by those who desperately flail about pretending that they’re NOT the party of slavery and segregation. But they just can’t help themselves when they held a Klansman in such high regard.
It’s obvious that you signed up because you were offended by my post.
Unlike some people, I don’t get offended. Nor do I feign offense to scrounge up love and adoration by Kool-Aid drinking lemmings.
See my problem with this, Chovexani, isWith any Democratic president (and the alternative in 2008 would have been Hillary Clinton) I think that we would be seeing this.
So is the video above of Hillary as Hitler, then, sexist? (Hell, you think we wouldn’t be seeing much, much, much more of the Concerned Women for America if Hillary wasn’t President…especially since if Hillary were the nominee, then we probably would never had heard of Sarah Palin)
What about Jackie Mason’s comment comparing Bubba to Hitler?
Now, sure, I see the racism in this ad but it’s just not all as overt as I was led to believe (I do think Pam’s descriptionof it as “jaw dropping” was perfect).
Yeah, sureTell that the Republicans who didn’t even deny it (later).
