Don’t I wish I had the time and money fly down to Miami to cover this! On Friday, September 17th at 7:30 PM, the barely-tethered-to-reality head of WorldNetDaily, Joseph Farah, is going to get his clock cleaned by GOProud‘s Chairman of the Board, Chris Barron.
“Since we announced that conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter would be headlining our Homocon 2010 in New York City, Farah has attacked GOProud, attacked Ann, and challenged our work almost every single day,” said Barron. “I look forward to standing on the stage with Mr. Farah to defend GOProud, to debunk the misinformation he has spread, and to make the case for GOProud’s conservative mission.”Farah and Barron have agreed to debate the thesis, “Is GOProud Conservative?”
“I welcome the opportunity to debate whether GOProud is really a conservative organization. Our work on behalf of conservative policies and conservative candidates speaks for itself,” continued Barron.
“The conservative movement is at a crossroads and this debate will display two very different visions for the road ahead,” concluded Barron.
The real thesis should is whether “conservative” womb controllers and bedroom peepers represent true conservative principles or are simply better labeled as Dominionists.

I once heard two UFO nutsarguing about whether UFOs propel themselves with warp drives or pull themselves along “lines of gravitational force.” I’m guessing that this debate will sound a lot like that one.
Frankly, I’d prefer that they debate this:“Is Joe Farah an asshat?” I’d think even the audience would agree with that assumption.
Of course, gay wingnuts…Especially the males, are often womb controllers themselves.
It’s kind of gross.
Who are these anti-choice gay men? This is news to me.
It’s interesting and proverbial–considering the general antagonism between us left queers and conserva-gays like LCR or GOProud–how we’ll still root for them when they tangle with heterosexual homophobic Christofascists.
Over and over again the interactions of various social groups keep reminding me of the infamous Pashtun proverb, and the present post looks like one more example of it:
I against my brother.
My brother and I against my cousins.
My cousins and I against the world.
(In which GOProud corresponds to our “cousins.”)
I don’t know why you should feel that Joseph Farrah is going to get his clock cleaned. This is going to turn into a oneupmanship over who hates liberal faggots more. Barron will not make his case in a way that will be gay positive but rather in a way that will be “conservative” positive as it applies to anti-gay conservatives.
If he’s consistent with his past statements, he will throw marriage equality under the bus. He’ll rail against Walker’s decision as a usurping of the will of the people of California. He’ll make the case that the people should have the right to determine what civil rights minorities are allowed to have.
Farrah will come away with one of two conclusions. 1) Barron and his group are just another bunch of dirty faggots trying to destroy the Republican Party or 2) Barron and his group are part of the Republican Party and share the party’s disdain for non-Republican dirty faggots.
Lose,lose!
EQUALITY AMERICA has a wall thread up…CAN YOU BE GAY AND REPUBLICAN? Gettin' a zillion comments? Posted link to this there. Will it be the answer. …. don't hold your breath (not in the fun kinky way anyway)
From what I gather, many conservative gays are . . . . . . in the “libertarian” wing, not the neo-con wing or the christianist wing. To the extent that they’re in the libertarian wing they are much less likely to be womb controller types.
