A pro-family activist who is working to expose the truth about homosexuality finds it absolutely appalling that former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Ken Mehlman was able to “beat back” Republican efforts against homosexual “marriage” while hiding his own homosexual lifestyle.
He’s talking about Peter LaBarbera of course. And The Peter doesn’t disappoint:
“The most troubling thing about Mehlman is that he reveals in his interview with The Atlantic magazine that he was subverting the fight to preserve marriage as the head of the RNC,” notes Peter LaBarbera, founder and president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). “He admits that he was working in private conversations with senior GOP leaders against the federal marriage amendment.”LaBarbera adds that he cannot understand why current RNC chairman Michael Steele has been so accepting of Mehlman’s lifestyle. “There are so many great stories of people who left lesbianism, who left homosexuality,” he points out. “We should not accept that this homosexuality is part of Ken Mehlman’s identity. And shame on Michael Steele for [almost] celebrating Ken Mehlman’s homosexuality.”
And in a moment of revelation and admiration for the work of Mike Rogers, LaBarbera calls for outing “secret homosexuals” in order to cleanse the GOP of “homosexual activism.”

Two Questions
1) I thought that “lesbianism” and “homosexuality” were the same thing. But yay…we get a new -ism.
2) Where did they leave all of this lesbianism and homosexuality at, precisely?

Basically, they are proposing that ALL gays and lesbians get kicked out of the GOP…Gee, what was that I said about splintering RIGHT down the middle again? And just in time for November. Watch, guys-this is gonna be GOOD. I highly suspect the GOP is doing what they should have done a long time ago.
Well, If I had any choice besides the Demsand I don’t, I would probably vote for a progressive/green candidate. But that ain’t gonna happen in Maryland.

If their stories are “so great”, why are the “ex-gays” always changing and switching around details of their “stories” to make them more titillating to their audience?
One version of the story: “I slept with 100 men”; second version: “250 men”; third version: “thousands of men”, and so on.
Because they drank the christianist kool-aid and became deluded.

I understand the skepticism…And believe me, I don’t trust the GOP either-but if they actually DO get rid of TEH CRAZEE for once and for all, the Dems will have to start making their way towards the left again, or at least the middle. That will be good news for EVERYONE in this country. The dismantling of Reagan-era nonsense has just begun, at last.

Honestly, I don’t think it can come soon enough. In fact, I think they should be assisted if that’s what they want to do.
I think that the GOP’s relationshipwith the social conservatives is the same as the Democrat’s relationship with the progressives. Both parties are willing to pay court to their base when they need money and votes. However, the only true love that the leadership of either party has is for corporate America. The culture wars have been a very politically lucrative game. They aren’t likely to disappear from the political landscape.

I’m beginning to wonder about that.Maybe the reason that he focuses completely about guys (well, one of the reasons) could be that he thinks that homosexuality and lesbianism are two different things. He may not have a problem with the latter but the former may hit a bit too close to home so he reacts strongly and negatively to that. Has he said anything about transmen? It seems like he has it out for Autumn and transwomen with his “confused men” comments but may not have noticed that there are people who he would call “confused women”. Maybe we womenfolk don’t count because he doesn’t have empathy for women and those who he considers to be women. We are the weaker sex after all. What do we know?
As for The Peter, keep in mind that he’s a precinct committeeman in Naperville and he kinda sorta worked unofficially for Mehlman. That’s gotta hurt his feelings.
