This seems to me to a wonderfully sweet and simple, one-minute-ish take on what marriage is.
YAY, GROVER!!!Greater enlightenment through Muppets. Gotta love that!!!
Really? Details please!I can easily imagine him doing a talk show style thing for kids, he’s always had an innocent, chatty way about him.
Grover should interview Bert & ErnieAmerica’s favorite gay couple.
I’ve seen this clip before. It’s perfectionIt’s also an answer to the Fascist’s bleating “But what about the children????!!!!”
Children understand what’s important. The great (and gay) illustrator Maurice Sendak was asked why he likes children. His answer? “They’re not racist and they don’t lie.”
how beautifulI kinda find muppets creepy but this is adorable and will have to share with my niece.
WowThis is the sweetest thing I’ve seen this week. Hooray for Muppets.
Family Friendly Sesame StreetAnd then there is the catchy tune that says, “Any group of people living together and loving each other is doing the family thing.” Pretty inclusive for puppets!
Sesame Street is brilliantIt’s always been wonderfully inclusive, culturally aware and educational without being patronizing. In fact, I wish more adults would watch it. On a related note, I wish Marlo Thomas would make a whole new “Free to Be..You and Me.” Target is already using the title song for their new back to school commercials. I’ll always be impressed with the memorable segment “William Wants a Doll.” My God, how progressive that was for 1971!
I think we should hook Grover upwith Autumn’s sock puppet Bookworm Bob. They’d make a really cute couple.
This is amazingWhen the kid goes “A marriage is when two people get married” and Grover goes “Yep, that’s marriage” and then just looks at the camera silently… brilliant. There’s no way there isn’t a deeper meaning to this clip.
Too cute!!If only marriage was about kisses and hugs.
No fights or anything like that.
Ha.
Someone please post this to NOMswebsite. They need a revelation.
