I’m doing my darndest not to blog. I’m really not supposed to since I’m on the first vacation with my wife in I don’t know how long. Of course I wasn’t able to go completely cold turkey when it comes to digital addiction, so I have my Droid phone and I brought my laptop to read mail, not necessarily to act on it, then wean myself off. If you see something posted by me, it means it was already in the queue.
More below the fold, including pix…
We’re at the Inn by the Sea at Crescent Beach, Maine; also here is Mainer Joe Sudbay (celebrating the big 5-0), and his wonderful partner Carlos. We first stopped by the family house (R) where we met up with Joe’s and Carlos’s Cocker Spaniel Petey, who is spoiled rotten (as if our two dogs aren’t!). Just a few pix from barista Louise’s beautiful state.

Enjoy!My partner’s from Maine.
Have a nice quiet vacation…..and relax with your wife
have a good vacationif you get up to Bangor be sure to hit the muddy rudder and bar harbor!
say hi to Louise!
welcome!Avoid the tourist traps. get a local to show you where the real stuff is. Lots of queer stuff in Portland to see and visit. Enjoy.
Avoid DeMillo’s, go to Gilbert’s Chowder House. For a lobster roll done right, go to Red’s Eats up in Wiscasset (also the best clam cakes in the world. Period.) Be sure to hit Becky’s Diner for breakfast one morning and Bintliff’s Cafe another. For elegant queer-cool dinner, I recommend Natasha’s. For sushi, go to Yosaku, for burgers, pub fare and microbrews, hit the Great Lost Bear – which is conveniently located next to the Equality Maine offices on Forest Ave.
Would love to catch up with you while you’re in town. drop a note to my home email and I’ll arrange to give you the cook’s tour.
Dawn
Enjoy! And Love the new Pam Blend Photo!
Have a great vacationI hope you and Kate have a wonderful time. We ordered some fine Coast of Maine weather just for your visit. I hope we can get you back here for a speaking engagement in Portland sometime, but that would be work! This should be all play–have fun!
Heh!I already mentioned Becky’s- but as I like DiMillo’s, added that to the list. And offered my taxi services!
And if we’re avoiding the touristy stuff, why not get a mess of red hot dogs into Pam and Kate?
Been on that deck!Last year at a No On 1 house party put on by Joe’s family; what a great time that was! I adore each and every one of the Sudbays; they are a TERRIFIC family.
Pam, I can’t tell you how very tickled I am that you and Kate came here to Maine. And it looks as though the weather is gonna be absolutely on its BEST behavior for awhile- enjoy and welcome!
(and I gotta tell ya, knowing I’m going to finally meet you and Kate feels a lot like waiting for Christmas morning…
adopted Mainer hereHey, I’m glad you’re having a good time here. I moved to Portland from Philly to live with my wonderful hubby Jason.
If you pass near Portland, and if you like Thai food, Chaba Thai in Scarborough is wonderful.
Leaking some of my new head shotsI’ll have a post up about them later on, but if you want to see a preview of some of them and comment on/vote for your favorites…

Have fun.Well deserved, your vacation.
And btw, I thought I was the only one with a digital addition. LOL.
DittoAlso, the fifth photo on the same row.
It is so weirdseeing places down the road from my house on the internet; Maine doesn’t exactly make the news very often, and definitely not Cape Elizabeth. Enjoy Crescent and your vacation!
indecisiveI like the second in the first row best.
The second in the second row is a better picture.
Third row third is dreamy.
For purposes of the blend first row 5.
Assuming of course we all see them in the same order.
