New website looking for early submissionsI’m starting a new website called Straight Allies.  Straight Allies is a project designed to gather testimonials from every straight ally of the LGBT community on why they support equality.  If you or anyone you know is straight and is interested in writing about what makes you an ally, please email me at straightalliessubmissions@gmail.com and I’ll give you more information.

Thanks for that info, LurleenI actually hadn’t heard of that org before.  I’m thinking, since they’re a big organization, I should probably launch the site and get a few dozen entries up before approaching them.  Truth be told, I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m sort of winging it!

there should be local chapters near youby all means get your site set up, but then do go make contact with the local chapters of pflag near you.  they will likely be full of friends and family members very happy to have a way of expressing their love for their lgbt family members.  most pflag groups are comfortably informal and always welcoming, so you may be able to work it out with the facilitator that you can join a meeting some evening and present your project to them personally.  nothing like the personal touch!

GLSEN is another good organizationThe Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network is the primary resource for the Gay/Straight Alliances (GSAs) that have grown from a few dozen schools in the mid-90s to over 4,000 across the country today.
GLSEN keeps a registry of GSAs and may have a way to share information with them.   The GSAs would be a great way to get testimonials from straight allies as young as junior high students.
