It’s a motherlode of FAIL and sadsacks as Louise uploaded photos from the losers NOM’s faithful at craptacular, sparsely attended NOM “Summer of Marriage 2010″ Kickoff in Maine (Facebook album here).
Another priceless photo:

UPDATE: When I said sparsely attended, this is what I meant – protect keyboards…

She Looks Real Proud Of Herselfpretending to read her mini-bible and bringing a chair along for her signage. And trying to hide her face behind that tacky hat.
desperately pathetic tyrannical theocRAT tourthat’s pathetic – they dragged that poor old lady out with a knee brace and a cane in that hot weather – they are desperate
NOM hippies!“Just wait until I get mobile! Those dirty HOMOs* will pay!”

Oy.“Excuse me, is this seat taken?”
“Why yes, that’s where my uninformed hatred is sitting.”

That’s not a hat,

OK, OK,
so I’m sorry already!
she’s right, sort ofIt isn’t loving to bring children into a destructive lifestyle like hers.
Looking at second picture…This is what gets me. There is no passion behind their side, its the same fifty old white people in every rally. Yet, they always win the referendums. How come?
the hippy in me take offence to that : )
Click on the Facebook link, everyoneThere are some TERRIFIC ones of Brian Brown, Bob Emrich, Jennifer Roback Morse (who does a MEAN “Little Rabbit Foo-Foo”!) and Charla Bansley- “Gawd’s Gift To Photo Journalism”.
Thanks for putting this up, Pam!
I took all these pictures – and did something REALLY stooopidI also got video of every single speech and the press interviews – then put the disc into the computer and viewed them (thinking that I had uploaded them to Picasa)
Then deleted the whole stinking hour of video!
The crazy hat/sign lady piped up and said “You know you have to ask permission to take someone’s picture” - to which I replied, “Not in a public place, maam.”
Brian Brown came up and grabbed my hand and introduced himself – like shaking a soggy, decaying plum.
God smote their sound system so everyone had to yell (it was like an hour listening to a bunch of crazed streetcorner eangelists).
Total attendance – 80 civilians and 20 press.
All in all, they kept the hate speech to a minimum – there were the “think of the children” memes, but no bathroom references or predator themes.
The “thrust” of the message was “we’re building an army of support and need your help.”
More like a platoon, led by Gomer.
Here’s NOM’s take on the eventhttp://nomblog.com/1193/
“We are simply thrilled that so many of you came out yesterday, and for those who didn’t make it, you missed a good time as we took a public stand for marriage, made new friends, and left inspired with messages from Rev. Emrich, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, and Charla Bansley.”
They also have a 1 minute slideshow which surprisingly doesn’t include a wide shot of the crowd.
Gee, I wonder why….
” like shaking a soggy, decaying plum.”OK, now that’s the worst – I call those the limp rotting fish handshakes.
Thanks for shooting the video and these photos, Snooky. I can’t believe these idiots can rationalize that turnout as “so many” coming out to support the cause. LOLOLOLOL.
I was gonna say the exact same thing :)
Maybe she’s saving it for Jesus.
No one ever went broke (or lost a referendum)underestimating the intelligence of the American people.
hmmmmwell Im glad I do NOT witness these “meetings” personally – as I KNOW I WOULD have to Yell something or other in thier direction…ie: Freedom of speech etc….and Oh I would!!! So Maine can Go Eff’ itself…my partner of 10yrs and I ARE going to VERMONT and Marrying Aug 4th,and spending Our $2000 vakay budget in Vermont….so Suck it Maine!
Dude. Chill.Bear in mind that when you say generalized crap like ‘suck it, Maine,’ it’s not only hurtful but disrespectful to those of us who voted against Question 1 and worked on the campaign, and to the 47% of voters who went with us. I am so tired of seeing this “f Maine” attitude.
Maine told the gay community to suck it.What do you expect in return, sweetness and light? What sense would it make to form judgments about an area based on a minority of its residents, rather than the reverse? By that logic, no one would ever have boycotted South Africa to end apartheid there. Maine voters endorsed gay apartheid. Get it?
what I want to knowis if there were any counter-protestors there and, if so, how many compared to the NOM sheeple.
Hmmmm…Saving it for Jesus? I don’t think he showed up for this rally. Someone forget to send him an email?
A Big Thank Youto Louise for getting and posting these photos, because you know NOM will spin these “crowds”–less than a classroom’s worth of people–into a tale of huge rallies “demonstrating the overwhelming support of real Americans for traditional marriage.” We know from all our experience from California, Maine and elsewhere that the truth means nothing to these people. These photos are further testimony to the way things really are.
Well, you can hardly expect People to have their wedding and honeymoon in Maine after voting down our right to marry, can you?
Personally I blame the liars and the hate-breeders and the fear-mongers a lot more than the people of Maine, a place I love, but that doesn’t mean making a whole fraction of the people of the world unwelcome is consequence-free, particularly to a state which has a certain amount of its economy in tourism.
He’s been AWOL for 2000 years. But don’t you worry. He’ll be back any day now. All the TV preachers say so, and you don’t think they’d fib, do you?
I’ll Bet Charla Bansley Was Sweating Like A HogCharla Bansley and Maggie Gallagher = NOM’s Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum.
suggested caption for second photo“Unexpectedly large turnout for NOM’s kick-off rally forces group to order second pizza.”
We intentionally boycotted their (tiny) event to keep the crowd small. And it worked.
There were counter protestors in Manchester and you can see them in the photos on NOM’s site…
Sure enough, you can’t read their signs and at a casual glance they look like possible supporters.
I believe I was the only active opponant on site and I kept my trap shut.
Here’s the picture in the Portland Press Herald of BrianThey caught him looking completely demented…the other shot was of the lady who had the spelling issues…PPH did not do them any favors, IMHO.
I was thinking of this for the second photo“Despite inclement weather and threats from liberal activists, hundreds of patriotic Americans showed up to support traditional cultural values that have existed since time immemorial, and which the founding fathers intended for this country.”
No need for them to justify the words to the picture. All they have to do is say it, and the sheeple will believe.
Great report via Campaign Courage of EQME Rallywith links to Bangor Daily News coverage..
Governor Baldacci’s speech to EQME- WATCH THISAnd share it… this is what a true leader does. He was not scheduled to speak; about 2 minutes before the rally began his office contacted EQME and he apparently asked to address the crowds directly.
This is my Governor. And I have never been more proud.
For Keori: “Suck it, Lingle!”
