Now this is what I’m talking about when it comes to the crazies on the right — the fire-breathing man of manufactured tears, Glenn Beck, telling people what they need to do about their church-going habits.
On his daily radio and television shows last week, Fox News personality Glenn Beck set out to convince his audience that “social justice,” the term many Christian churches use to describe their efforts to address poverty and human rights, is a “code word” for communism and Nazism. Beck urged Christians to discuss the term with their priests and to leave their churches if leaders would not reconsider their emphasis on social justice.“I’m begging you, your right to religion and freedom to exercise religion and read all of the passages of the Bible as you want to read them and as your church wants to preach them . . . are going to come under the ropes in the next year. If it lasts that long it will be the next year. I beg you, look for the words ‘social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!”

There’s nothing wrong with a business that serves some kind of demand in the marketplace, but it goes without saying that fearmongering about economic collapse followed by food shortages and citing World Net Daily for “strong evidence” is big time black helicopter stuff.

He’s mormon, so yes.
Remember that to the Mormons and the Southern Baptists, the civil rights movement was a communistic advance assaulting their god-given ” state’s rights” to be better than black people and keep them far away from them. The same followers of Beck’s program fled to outlying suburbs just to avoid integration and remain living in a fantasy world built by 1960s TV shows. Socialism as the right-wing uses it has basically been a code word for black or black-loving for so long to these people that I’m betting they’d be almost surprised to find out that Russia is and was overwhelmingly white and racist.
So yeah, of course he thought they were all nazis and communists and so does his audience, that’s the point of this little tirade. The churches these people come from are proudly racist, which is why they’ve been having a public meltdown over the first black president.
So the Catholics should all leave their church?because, despite their medieval attitudes towards LGBT’s, on other issues the Catholic Church is firmly committed to social justice.

I mean the segregationists and bigots back in the day did not see themselves as that way. They where merely attempting to maintain what they thought was right and good about America and about society and how that was accomplished just didn’t seem to matter. The whole thing was ugly enough with churches preaching love it would be interesting to see what it would look like if such a society got ride of the influence of religion and education and diversity. Oh yeah they tried that. It was the real Nazi Germany.

He’s preaching to the christiansts’ goldmine: tens of millions of purposely-un/under/maleducated white psuedo-christians who, thanks to the people they’ve been conned into voting for over the last 30 years, have nothing other the dream of re-establishing an America in which being white and claiming to be christian had a tangible, substantive value that would put one ahead of all who were otherwise similarly situated but who weren’t white or christian.

God SyndromeHe must be falling into the “God Syndrome”. It is something those who believe they are above all humans in everything start to know they are “GOD”. We usually run into this in far-right people, Daddy Dobson and Pat Robertson come to mind, or doctors. Doctors start to believe their own press releases about how they and they alone know what is right.
And a search of the Mormon Website…returned “0″ results for the phrase “social justice”. Since I can’t post a screen shot, just below this on the web site was the following:

I didn’t realize he was LDSBeck was a cradle Catholic, and converted to LDS in 1999 with his whole family, the same year the RCC threw me out.
His religious choice, and the fact that he’s voluntarily converted to it (though not without an internal struggle while he quashed any remaining competent brain cells), explains much.
Glen Beck was a Catholic and converted to LDS in 1999So that is apparently a part of his message. There’s no social justice in Glen’s religion – at least that’s pretty much what he’s indicating. Heavenly Father is not amused, Glen.
Meanwhile, a Sarah Palin let her know the Bible shows that God writes on His (or He/She’s) hand – Isaiah 49:16. But the passage from Isaiah says engraved – doesn’t that mean that Sarah should have her talking points tatooed there?
All I can say is that Glenn Beck’s PROJECTION OF HIS OWN DEEP SEATED DADDY COMPLEX is driving this rant about social justice. He hasn’t got his justice and he doesn’t want to allow others to foster it for other people. What a screwed up mind this man has.
Someone should engrave Matthew 7:12: “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them,” into her chest with a butter knife.
The German Nazis did not do away with religion and educationthey just perverted and restricted it for their own purposes. Much like what is being done in America today by the LDS, Catholic and Evangelical churches.

We in the United Church of Christ got used to being called “queer lovin’, baby hatn’, anti-Christian, Socialist/Communist” YEARS ago.
We wear it like a badge of honor considering the source.
And get this…Eventually, the Nazis were going to get rid of Christianity in Germany and replace it with the pre-Christian Odinic religion of the Norse. At least, according to Himmler, who was a big believer in the Norse religion. He felt that more suited to a ‘warrior class’ than ‘soft, effeminate’ Christianity. Himmler also praised Islam as a suitable religion for ‘warriors’. The Nazis were a crazy bunch.

Misleading at best..Yes, one prominent leader of the LDS was not fond of the civil rights movement, but an official statement in favor of equality for people of all races was made by LDS leaders in the middle of the civil rights movement.
So, no, the LDS record on race is not admirable, but it’s not as bad as you’re making it seem.
