Well. The first paragraph of this article (Keen News Service‘s Obama’s new proposal: LGBTs still missing) pretty much is another indictment of how President “Fierce Advocate” just isn’t:
President Obama released a new health care reform bill Monday that he says incorporates work done in the House and Senate and adds ideas from Republican members of Congress. But there’s no inclusion in this new proposed measure of any of the gay-related provisions in the original House bill. But it’s not all bad news. The president’s proposal calls for $11 billion for “the operation, expansion, and construction of community health centers” around the country. And that money could help at least some LGBT and HIV centers around the country.
Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.), the openly gay member of Congress who was a leader in adding pro-gay provisions to the House health reform bill, says she hasn’t given up hope. She called President Obama’s proposal Monday “an important step forward” that “helps to regain our momentum” on health care reform efforts.
But, she added, “it is not the final word.” …
It might not be the final word on healthcare reform, but the current healthcare reform proposal by President Obama and is yet another example of how the President is far from being the fierce, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community advocate he advertized himself to be in the 2008 campaign.

Tammy should stop whining and use her leverageWhile conservative Democrats in the House are withholding their support for the bill until their demands are met, all Tammy can do is whine and plead. What’s her problem? And Barney Frank and Jared Polis. They should withhold their support for the bill until the provisions are included. Begging doesn’t accomplish anything. They have some power and leverage. They should use it. Why do liberals curl up into a fetal position instead of pressing using their leverage?
He was never a fierce advocate for LGBTsWhich is why he sponsored the SOUTH CAROLINA HOMOPHOBIC ROAD SHOW. At the same time repeatedly stating that he was against gay marriage.
Caused me to not vote for President for the first time in SEVEN Presidential elections.
Anyone acting as if he acted like he was on our side is just kidding themselves.
Sorry to be so harsh, but that is the truth.
2012 can’t get here fast enoughI’m ashamed to admit that I voted for Obama, but I plan to make things right by voting for WHOEVER runs against him in 2012.
Enjoy your president PalinWhat an utterly ridiculous point of view.
ish, pleasethis bogeyman shit is beneath you.
What is Obama doing to win votes for 2012 other than not being Palin would be a better question?
PleaseThere are third parties out there who can and do treat us better. What the hell is the difference between Obama and the Democrats’ Stab them in the back or the Republicans’ Stab them in the front? We’re still dying, no matter if it’s in the front or back.
I am so glad I voted for a third party in 2008. At least I can say I didn’t elect this jerk.
exactly…I could not in good conscious, as a GAY MAN, one of the few I know who survived the AIDS crisis, vote for him. Obama stabbed us in the front repeatedly himself, prior to the election.
Then, I couldn’t help but celebrate for others and I watched the inauguration on TV, and I couldn’t believe, there at the inauguration, when Garth Brooks sang the one country song that advocated letting people love who they want to love, that they took out that very verse. At the inauguration.
It has been just one thing after another.
When will it no longer be cool to hate on the gays?
But I’ll still vote Democrat or nothing…until there is a viable other party…which is not likely.
I’m not advocating voting for Rethugs, idiots, or progressive candidate who violate your trust.
I just never kidded myself into believing that Obama had GLBTs better interests at heart before, during or after the election. He didn’t. And he probably won’t. It doesn’t behoove him.
And…
Were surprised by this? I think we should all know by now, when it comes to promises, or anything that has ‘gay’ attached to it, this President is just a more eloquent G.W.Bush. I am more and more disgusted.
Whenever a bill isnt going the way President Obama wishes the ‘queers’ are the first ones to the chopping block.
I’m done completely with the Dems and this President.
