Poor Maggie Gallagher and Brian Brown — their pet issue just got the drop-kick in a straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). The straw poll results are damning in terms of coddling the Dominionist Agenda. (On Top):
Stopping gay marriage ranked lowest with only 1% of attendees making it their second choice.…The survey polled 2,395 out of 10,000 registered CPAC attendees, 48% of whom were students. Men made up 64% of participants.
When asked if promoting “traditional values by protecting traditional marriage and protecting the life of the unborn” was a core belief and ideology, only 9% agreed.
Some other results:

Poor Mittens, blown away by Ron Paul. LOL.

So then why is NOM rolling in $?I like these poll results, but we all know that conservatives, like anyone, re-prioritize depending on the political dynamics of a place and time. When the opportunity to lobby against or vote on employment protections or relationship recognition arises, conservatives are happy to temporarily set aside their higher priorities to take a shot at us.
The poll results are encouraging for the future, but we’re no more a post-homo/transphobia country than we are a post-racial country.
Rick Santorum has “The Wrong Stuff”which I am glad to see
“were” maybe?I noticed that their last couple of email blast really went thick on the “please donate” schtick.
…and now they are shilling for Candidates.http://tinyurl.com/y8ns8rmThis shared by JH Friday…but I missed it. …Here in CA.. they like CA $$
Maybe because the Mormons and the Knights of Columbus weren’t invited?…
Because it isn’t people giving them moneyBut rather the criminal organizations the Mormon and possibly Catholic Church (through Opus Dei). They have unlimited funds as the beards of these organizations to support broad social policy that will aid the leaders of the churches and allow them to get their jollies off on making people more miserable than they themselves are.
Of course when it comes to voting, they’ll still do whatever their pastor or nearest authority figure tells them to. They’re carefully abused, carefully shielded from reality authoritarians.
Also the poll looks to have been freepered by Ron Paul libertarians who are just as against us but don’t consider us as important as implementing Colorado Springs on a national level.
CPAC and the Religious Right are not identicalCPAC is a business and investor interest group. It’s all about the money. I am frankly surprised that as high as 10% rated abortion in the top 2 causes (first choice 6%, second choice 4%). These are the inheritors of the “country club Republicans”, with the difference that the old-style “noblesse oblige” charitable and civic tradition no longer applies. If the bosses don’t live in the same region as the workers, there is no motivation to donate on a regular basis. Charity is now solely a public relations tool.
The results simply highlight the unusual nature of CPAC attendeesThe people who attend CPAC are not a representative sample of Americans, or even of US conservatism. The results tell us more about the people who attend CPAC than it does about who the leading Republican candidates are.
Ron Paul?Oh f*** no. In other words, these attendees would like to replace the first non-white president by a nutjob with a known racist past. I’m with Lurleen – post-racial my a–.
