I grew up un rural northern California. I got beat up on the school buss more times than I didn’t. Thats right…a white kid getting beat up by other white kids. Wow, I guess violence one a school bus never happens where Rush comes from…parents should never suffer under the illusion that the bus is a “safe” place for their kids.

make no mistake though–a huge segment of this country is actually RUSH’S america, which is why we have rampant racism, blatant bigotry, and generalized hatred infecting our national climate.  he’s another enormous link in a long chain that won’t be broken, and the entire country suffers because of it.  and the people who are still listening to his program after the number of outrages he has committed on air are evidence of everything that is wrong with us.      

I know that right wingers are a minority  But I am talking about the white population.  They use that number as a way to still feel in power, even though most white people don’t hold their twisted views.

He gets on to the ‘homosexuals’ later in the broadcastI was reading the transcript, and I noticed that, a bit later in the same broadcast, Rush had this to say:

“If homosexuality being inborn is what makes it acceptable, why does racism being inborn not make racism acceptable? I’m sorry — I mean, this is the way my mind works. But apparently now we don’t choose racism, we just are racists. We are born that way. We don’t choose it. So shouldn’t it be acceptable, excuse — this is according to the way the left thinks about things.

How many times does he have to spew poison before people conclude that he is poison? If he still has an audience, what does this say about them?

StupidityPeople aren’t born racists: they’re turned into racists by picking up words and propaganda from the people they’re around.

Just who are Rush’s listeners anyway?I mean, I picture them as the kind of people who pay to see boxing matches, and ultimate fights, and even cheer on professional wrestling and that isn’t even real. How could they jump to the conclusion that the kids were cheering because it was a black guy beating up a white guy? Anyone who has ever seen a fight break out would know that the kids were cheering because a fight broke out. They would have cheered if it was two white guys, or two black guys, and if it was two girls fighting you would have been able to hear their cheers from two blocks away. Sometimes I wonder if a large portion of his audience isn’t really people listening so they can keep track of what propaganda the crazy bastard is preaching now. I honestly wonder how much of his audience wouldn’t love to see his show cancelled.

Hell, I had white kids and black kids that wanted to kick my ass. The closest epithets I ever heard were from black kids saying that I was “acting white.”

Rush would have LOVED to have taken advantage of a “fight” which had taken place during my senior year of high school in the mid 90′s: this white redneck was making some pretty nasty racial comments during school, and at the end of the school day, pretty much the entire black population (a couple hundred) of students cornered and circled around him in the parking lot.  They didn’t whoop his ass, but it scared the ungodly shit out of him.

The scary thing is … some of them look normalThe guy who lives upstairs from me is a listener. Mid-20s, thin, preppy-looking, has potted plants out in front of his door, sets his table with a matched dining set, plays the piano, and swishes a bit when he walks. If he watches professional wrestling, he does it with headphones on or the sound off.
Actually, my first impression was that he might be gay. After figuring out which flat the Limbaugh bromides I overheard were coming from, I lost all interest in finding out.

I confess-I used to listen to Rushback in the Clinton era right up to the 2000 election.
I figured out very, very early on not to take him or his politics seriously and some of the satire was actually kinda good (though mean spirited). Then, I don’t think that he took himself too seriously.
I catch Rush every once in blue moon now and it’s very different. It may be that he relapsed on Hillbilly Heroin (or never got off of it, for that matter).
Part of it also is that while he had an audience, I never felt that his listeners looked to him for leadership; after all, they had Gingrich & Co. Now, the bigots have no leadership, no one seriously on the horizon really, and Rush is all they got.

He’s a yokel from the Ozarks, home of “sundown towns” and militiamenNow, he shouldn’t have that excuse, since he comes from a prominent (in Missouri) family of lawyers, and various relatives have been judges. It isn’t as if Rushbo grew up poor and scared of the outside world. Rush is definitely the black sheep of that family, the only one in his generation or the last to not graduate from college.
I get the impression that he wants to lord it over college graduates, starting with those in his own family. The Limbaughs are conservative, but not crude.
Incidentally, the Missouri rumor among “family” is that Rush engaged in gay sex during his one college year – the old “I was drunk” excuse, no doubt.
