Good god — the bile just flows continuously out of these beasts on the right; people like Mark Williams let their bigoted *sses hang out on international TV without a care in the world — but claims he and the teabagger movement aren’t racist. Say it, class — “You Lie!” Devona Walker at The Loop:
Tea Party leader Mark Williams called President Obama an “Indonesian Muslim turned Welfare thug,” last night on Anderson Cooper 360 in a segment where he was trying to deny any racist motivations behind the Tea Party protest.Williams denounced those carrying blatantly racist signs against President Obama during the tea parties as “no more part of the mainstream of America than the hippies who wear nipple clips and feather boas in San Francisco streets during so-called peace demonstrations.”
“What you’re saying makes sense to me here when I’m hearing what you say but then I read on your blog, you say, you call the President an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief,” Anderson Cooper said. ”Yeah, that’s the way he’s behaving,” Williams said. “He’s certainly acting like it. Until he embraces the whole country what else can I conclude.”
You see, Williams can say what he did without a bit of guilt that he’s crossed some sort of line in defense of racism. Why? Because the people in question didn’t burn a cross on a lawn or drag a black man tied to the back of a pickup truck down a road until his limbs fell off. THOSE PEOPLE are the racists, right?
Just because you don’t use the N-word doesn’t mean you are not a racist. Just because you call your movement one of “angry, working-class Americans” does not provide cover for the fact that you are leading a racist mob. Just because you don’t explicitly tell people to assassinate the president, abortion doctors, gays, Hispanic-Americans or illegal immigrants, you may still have blood on your hands if you cheerlead them on and provide propaganda as fuel.
Well if someone ordered a set of Klan sheets for Williams, he would wear them very well, thank you.

Because he is. My recent foray into teabag land cemented that the veiled racism that is now oozing up through the cankered crack veneers of so many inbred white americans in this mixed up and diseased society.
These are the douches that cover their purses when they see a person of color on the street. They don’t use the word, but the fear & loathing, the racism is there as clear as a sheet.

President Obama has bent over backwards trying to reach out to Republicans and they respond by throwing tantrums wanting it their way or no way. It’s time the Repugs get with the program or be left behind.
Obama has already alienated a good portion of the LGBT community support and he will never have the support of conservative right wingers. The more he panders to them he risks loosing liberal and moderate supporters.

The incredible thing about these Teabag dopes–and the thing that makes it inescapably clear just how stupid they are–is that there are plenty of valid, legitimate reasons to be unhappy with Obama, but they seem quite oblivious to what they are. They’re much too busy dreaming up simple-minded slogans to engage in anything resembling policy analysis (always assuming they’re even capable of it).
I’ve been saying for years that the most dangerous thing in the world–and the most impossible to deal with–is someone who’s too stupid to realize exactly how stupid he is. We are fast turning into a nation full of people like that. When a redneck congressman shouts invective at the president on the floor of congress and the president himself advocates that the guy not be censured in any way, American civilization, which has never been on a very firm footing to begin with, is really on the skids.

They are used to convey emotion rather than information; they don’t mean anything more than “This is a person I don’t like.” They’d be using the same words if Hillary had won (except Muslim), though I suspect not with quite the same vehemence. But with Obama, it’s not too hard to guess just what it is about him they hate so ferociously.
As I said in a comment yesterday, when you consider that virtually all of these creeps are white, if you assume that racism isn’t a factor in their Obama-hatred, what other explanation makes sense? He could be as reactionary as Alan Keyes and they’d still be dreaming up reasons to hate him.
