Wow. Just. Wow. All I know is if this is the path these people are taking, the darkest days are ahead. Exclusive video from an incident at Senator McCaskill’s town hall in eastern Missouri:
This is the only video of what actually happened at the event this afternoon. The news only showed the woman being escorted away by the police. What happened was the women walked in with signs, the crowd booed and yelled at the women. The women rolled up their posters and put them down. A photographer/reporter approached the woman on the end and wanted to see what the poster was. As the woman went to show the photographer/reporter what the poster was, a man from the bleachers stood up and snatched the poster from the woman and photographer/reporter. As the woman went to retrieve her poster the police stepped in and escorted the woman and the man from the building.
The poster was not of Obama, it was not pro health care, the poster that was taken from the woman and wrinkled up into a ball was of Rosa Parks.
National news coverage only showed the woman being escorted from the forum and left out the fact that it was the man who started the incident. Not to mention it was a poster of Rosa Parks.
Angry Black Bitch has an on-site report of the out-of-control nightmare coming from the kind of people we saw in full-out-racist mode at McCain/Palin rallies during the campaign.
I did have an unfortunate incident with a woman when I was trying to make a phone call outside of the hall while being black. She got up in my face…said something about being tired of all us [insert N-word]…and then called me a baby killer (I was wearing a pink Planned Parenthood t-shirt). She was quickly escorted away by an extremely nice and police officer.
They are so far off the reality-based charts that it’s hopeless to think the conflicts will not escalate:
A lot of the folks in attendance were confused. President Obama was portrayed on signs and pamphlets as some sort of Nazi, socialist, foreign born, communist, Muslim, euthanasia enthusiast, fascist who wants to tyrannically impose new environmental standards to perpetuate the dangerous myth of global warming all the while teaching the wee little babies about birth control in pre-school and plotting to knock off Grandma. These people seem to be scared shitless by the Obama presidency.
Many of them are on Medicare…like Medicare…don’t want to see Medicare go away, but are opposed to government healthcare coverage options.
Blink.
Jesus. H. Christ.

So glad the truth about this has finally come to light, PamAll you saw on the “Mainstream” news was a black woman being taken away. Not the white guy who ripped up her poster.
so disgraceful…A poster of Rosa Parks? To me, she’s a symbol of courage. Sad, sad.
What is wrong with these people?
The ABBIf any of you are not regular readers of Angry Black Bitch, you are missing one of the funniest and most insightful blogs out there.
A matter of timebefore someone gets killed.
Then watch FauxNews put their hands in the air and say, “Hey, don’t blame US!”
thugging at townhalls between Medicare-paid doctor visitsIt’s been fascinating, in a grotesque way, to see the high percentage of white haired seniors thugging it at these townhalls over ‘guberment healthcare’, meanwhile carrying their Medicare cards in their purses and wallets, and grabbing some lunch with a few bucks from the social security check. The disconnect from reality is so extreme. Is it that they don’t understand they’re already enjoying taxpayer-paid healthcare and social security funded by younger employees? Or that they just don’t want healthcare extended to anyone under 65? They won’t be paying for it anyway. There’s a strong element of greed mixed in with the madness. Makes me kind of like the death panel idea, were it not complete fiction.
I’ve Said All AlongWhat the tea-baggers, birthers, deathers, and anti-tax groups are protesting isn’t national healthcare — it’s the election of an African American to the highest office in the land.
If you want to criticize Obama on policy (as I do for his snails pace repealing of DADT and DOMA), fine, that is our right and I believe healthy for Democracy.
But what these groups are doing has nothing to do with policy objections. Look at the people in these crowds: they’re all middle and upper-middle class white Americans. They see a change happening, where white people will soon be a minority in this country and they’re afraid. Obama is a constant reminder, a sore on the bottom of their feet of what’s to come.
They’re not going to stop, folks. They’re not going to be happy until someone is hurt or worse. The number of militia groups in the U.S. is growing. This is not good.
White Is The New StupidThose of us white folks who has no problems with a black man being president should start wearing our own shirt:
“I’m With Stupid….Race”.
My gawd…This is just downright scary. How long before these wingnuts start shooting to kill? Of course, I’m sure the GOP & sick care industry will try to escape blame by saying they “never promoted violence”. That just won’t work. They’re the ones promoting all this H8 & xenophobia, and the blood will be their hands if they don’t stop the far right extremism that they started.
Wallace would be proud, As well as a few other sitting representatives and senators.
The true common thread is race, but the lies being told by those on the right are adding fuel to all this.
As you said, This is not good. I am hoping that most people see this for what it really is, a Hate fest, and reject it outright.
It is the republican base
They believe they are doing God’s work. Yeah, very scary and very hate filled.
bluegrassfool, you owe me a keyboard!it’s wet with my morning coffee right now and I have to rush before it sticks.
Longtime, no see, by the way.
my guess?not that long. because in reality-based america, all this furor over a black president and (reportedly) new liberal leadership is resulting in increased activity among ACTUAL nazis, euthanasia-enthusiasts, and fascists.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireS…
anyone surprised? anti-american theocrats and general bigots have been whipped up into such a fear-feeding frenzy by republicans, fox news, and homo-hating religious organizations that they’re turning to terrorism. to top that all off, the media still refuses to label violent acts by these people as “terrorism” unless it’s of the variety perpetrated by the brown-skinned ones. why aren’t we discussing the terrorism among our own?
Of Course These protesters say they’re worried about runaway Federal spending, the size of the deficit, and so forth.
But, where were they when Bushco was giving $800 billion in tax cuts to the upper 1% of wage earners during wartimes?
Where were they when Bushco created the behemoth Dept. of Homeland Security? Or, Medicare Part D?
Crickets, nary a peep. Don’t believe them. They don’t care about the deficit or their grandchildren. This is all about:
1. an African America president
2. a Hispanic appointment to the SCOTUS
3. a woman Secretary of State
The old, white boy’s club is being rattled to its core.
It’s always been an open secretthat these people want to go back to before the days before the civil rights act. A few have even said that they would see the equal protection clause of the fourteenth amendment repealed.
Sorry!Hi Kev, hope you’re doing well!!
Sorry about the keyboard! LOL I’m not joking: this is getting too stupid. I want all my bruthas and sistas to know that I don’t personally know any of these birthers/deathers/nutjobs, not related to them, and in that case that I am related to one, I disown them! LOL
Reality Bites.I just keep thinking of that line in the old Pogo cartoon:
“We have met the enemy, and he is us.”
I suppose the only good thing to come out of all of this is that people are being forced to confront the fact that they aren’t as enlightened as they would like to think they have been.
The networks deliberately misled the publicby showing the image of the black woman being escorted out of the meeting without an explanation. It appears as though they want the public to think that not only old white people oppose healthcare reform. I just knew that there was a story behind this. What a sham!
I agreeI just saw the same clip again on MSNBC.
I suggest someone send the full version and some contact info for those involved to Rachel Maddow — I think she might be interested in providing more clarification on this. She’s been doing a lot of filling in between the lines with the town hall meeting stuff.
Remember BUSH = HITLER?BUSH LIED – PEOPLE DIED?
The posters of Bush as a Chimp, as the Devil, hung from a gallows etc?
Remember all the nasty, mean, spiteful, petty, and downright insane stuff that went down a few years ago? But that was OK, because it was from “our team”.
The political discourse turned really ugly a while ago. Meet the new ugly, same as the old ugly.
We shouldn’t be ignoring the racists, the antisemites, the homophobes, and the sheer barking lunatics just because they are on “our side”. I fear the Right will though, just as the Left has done.
It’s past time that those on the Right and the Left cleaned houses. I have far more in common with a sane leftist than some of these violent loonies of the Right. Often we agree in ends, just differ on the means to those ends. But while one side champions Microsoft Word 2005 documents supposedly from the 70′s, and the other side champions “Kenyan” birth certificates with a price in Australian currency, rationality is in pretty low supply.
Call them racist, fascist ReTHUGlicans long enough, elements of the insane will figure that they already have the label, so why not live up to it? Or down.
While it was “their team” doing this kind of thing, I didn’t feel too bad. The political backstabbing over DADT, the firing of any Inspector General who might have put a stop to the cronyism, the blatant interference in the prosecution of “Black Power” truncheon-weilding voting intimidators, all the rest of that stuff, that I expected.
Now it’s thugs and bullies and the violent lunatics doing the exact same thing while supposedly “on the Right”.
That’s BS. It’s the same BS and it infects both sides. We need a coalition of the sane, to reject and throw out the flat-earthers that are a plague on both our houses.
Anyone with me? Since these idiots are on “my side” in this case, I think I should go first.
There is some truth to thatIt became overt during the first Clinton Administration but really it goes back to the Reagan Administration successfully making “liberal” a bit of a dirty word. Both sides have become increasingly partisan. But with a blacl president in office, it has hit overdrive and there appears to be no brakes on this baby.
And I never felt that Bill Clinton’s or Bush 43′s life was in danger either. At least not moreso than would be “usual” for the leader of the free world.
how many of these people are paid provocateurs? I know there are lots of crazy people out there, but dating back to the Palin VP candidacy, they have been getting so bold that I figure at least some of them are on somebody’s payroll.
BUSH LIED – PEOPLE DIEDWell? Well, but Bush DID lie and people DID die.
More than 4,400 U.S. soldiers in Iraq and a million Iraqis.
This is a statement of fact. Sorry, but this wasn’t a matter of the quality of discourse.
How many people have died as a result of anything Obama has said?
I think my memory is going…I don’t remember hired squads of anti-Bush extremists showing up at public meetings to shout down all disagreement and make death threats to members of Congress and the public. I certainly don’t remember armed members of the Left (what exists of it in the U.S. — and no, the Dems are not on the left, except by the current “anyone to the left of Mussolini is a socialist” standards) actually suggesting a willingness to assassinate Bush outside his speaking engagements. If we had a major problem with Stalinist militias these days, then that might be enough to “balance” out the GOP Squadristi in a “both sides need to rein in their fringe” sort of way. I just don’t see any suggestion of that, though — this is much more along the lines of “gay-bashing is balanced or outweighed by Christian-bashing” bullshit where right-wing violence is portrayed as in the same league as loud center-to-left criticism of totalitarian thuggism. And calling Bush an authoritarian thug when he was behaving like an authoritarian thug and ordering torture, bombing of civilians, indefinite extrajudicial detention, etc. is not the same as threatening to assassinate Obama for cutting into insurance-industry profits. As much as the moral relativists on the Right might want to imply otherwise, people’s actual actions, not just their political position, matter in terms of making moral judgments — creating a “right-wing vs. everyone else” dichotomy doesn’t mean there must be a moral equivalence of the “two sides”.
Hey, you reap what you sow!All this Republican bashing is so off the wall. It’s a small group that gets away with it because the rest of us are afraid to “make a scene”. That goes for both Republicans and Democrats.
And don’t y’all remember where they learned it? Think state primary caucuses where certain Obama supporters did EXACTLY the same thing. And guess what, he won 25 out of the 27 primaries determined by caucus. Maybe folks learned some new political tricks.
If your all so bent out of shape by it, do something instead of whining on here.
Don’t fall for the false “Meme”“Both sides did it” is crap.
There are more than two sides.
And often there’s only ONE!
Truth is not a “side.”
A million Iraqis?Yes, and 50 million children killed by pro-choice.
Both figures equally bogus. Even the Lancet doesn’t claim that any more. It served its purpose, published just before the election in order to sway it.
I’m actually for the reform of Healthcare in the US. It’s needed. I don’t want yet another 1800 page bill to be passed by a Congress that doesn’t read it though.
The Obama plan is actually pretty similar in concept to the one in Australia. That has some flaws, but is generally pretty good, and a HUGE improvement on the US situation. And yes, we have competitive (mostly co-op) health insurers that make money too.
But some of the details of the plan are really bad – as far as I can tell. It’s such a confused mess, I don’t think anyone understands it, and the details change hourly. They’re screwing this necessary reform up.
Oh yes, and on abortion? Shouldn’t be used as routine contraception. In the first trimester, a tragedy, but I’m very firmly pro-choice there. Up to 26 weeks, in fact. In the last trimester, same as infanticide. WHICH MAY BE NECESSARY in some cases, as it is sometimes with conjoined twins. You may have to effectively kill one, or they both die. So I won’t categorically rule out late-term abortions, not in all cases. The existing safeguards are probably adequate.
The thing is, we can rationally discuss this. The people I’m against can’t.
If there’s one tiny sliver of sunlight in this tidal wave of nauseating hatred and lunacy, it’s that when I condemn these violent crackpots on “my team”, maybe I won’t be seen as being just another partisan hack.
What I really hate is the mendacity and scare-mongering, the deliberate lying “for a good cause” that some supposedly on the Right engage in. It’s no different from the partisan mendacity and Junk Science in the “Million dead Iraqis”, or is it 10 million now? Whatever, that’s past and irrelevant. We have to do something to stop this crap now.
I’m being selfish you see. I want a sane party to govern, and a right-of-centre one. That means ejecting the Dominionists, as well as the likes of KKK Kleagle Byrd.
A coalition of the Sane, and start with cleaning up the Right’s smelly mess first.
Maybe you should look at those on your side. But that can wait, we have work to do.
As awful as it is to watchI am glad these people are finally dropping the pretense and showing who they really are in a way that others will get. My experience with homophobia has been that people would never admit to it but would let it show in little – deniable – ways. That way risked making myself look crazy for pointing it out. I have seen this in a racial context as well. I imagine that it’s a tactic that is used against all manner of groups.
thanks…for the tip
Pam and the restI was just as outraged this am and reposted the vid over at our place. My co-blogger is a master tweeter and tweeted it to David Shuster who has retweeted (or whatever the hell you call it) and let us know that he will be covering it on MSNBC at 3&4p today.
GOODThank you.
Now if we can just get ABC, CBS, and NBC to do the same.
Never thought I’d be grateful for Twitter.
No comparisonWe can all agree that each end of the spectrum has its idiots. But we also need to admit that the raving loonies on the right are far more dangerous than those on the left.
1) The left does not, as a general rule, endorse eliminationist rhetoric. The right, OTOH, uses it to whip up the base, because the base is made up of christian hate voters who honestly believe that killing “sinners” (brown people, gays, women who don’t conform) is okay.
2) The left is not, as a general rule, represented among anti-government militias who accumulate automatic weapons (for use in a race war against brown people and Jews which is intended to overthrown the democratically elected government and install a whites-only fundamentalist christian theocracy).
3) The violence we have seen done by those on the extreme left tends to property damage, eg: “anarchists” during the Seattle WTO protests who busted windows and set fire to a a few buildings, or the PETA/ALF/ELF dipshits who throw paint on women wearing fur and torch SUVs. The worst violent crime ever committed against a person by one of these fringe groups has been stalking, harassment, and a few isolated, not-credible death threats against CEOs of chemical companies and their families.
4) Extreme left groups aren’t represented in any major media outlets. They certainly don’t have the equivalent of Glenn Beck to spew eliminationist rhetoric daily.
You cannot compare the two sides in terms of actul effects and actions, Zoe. Yes, they are both loony, but only one is truly a credible threat to people’s lives, and the stability of the country. Protesting in the streets with drums and gigantic puppets ala Burning Man doesn’t come close to encouraging your followers to bring weapons to town hall meetings.
Kevinchi has a point – at no time was anyone with any credibility on the left actively calling for Bush 43 to be assassinated.
Not equivalenciesHow many Iraqis died? Who knows. You want to quibble over ten thousand, fifty thousand, a hundred thousand, two hundred thousand, a million? How many 9/11s has the US visited upon or provoked every week in Iraq since the bombings and invasion began?
These were real, living breathing people. Not fetuses. Not frozen sperm babies, but people. You wanna say well some people think the two things are the same, and I say, some people believe things that are just wrong!
All opinions are not equivalent. The left did nothing like what the right is doing now. With your logic Hitler’s Nuremburg rally is equivalent to the great Civil Rights March on Washington. That’s just sloppy thinking.
Condemning Bush for needlessly killing thousands? Hundred of thousands? of people is not the same thing as what the rightwing is currently doing, in condemning Obama for….well, for being black.
unbelievablesad thing is, these people have no idea what they are “fighting” for but it has quickly become an excuse to be a bigoted arse in the name of christ and country.
Specter’s Town Hall YesterdayThis is the clown who nearly caused a riot at Arlen Specter’s town hall yesterday. Interview today on MSNBC.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21…
This man has serious issues, and is essentially incoherent. The hairpiece interviewing him tries oh so hard to be nice. I say that if this mumbling, ill-informed, tinfoil-hat-wearing wingnut wants to be on TV, put him in front of Chris Matthews, who will eat his lunch.
BTW, the tagline under him on several occaisions mentions he’s on disability with lung condition. A. Where does he think his disability pay comes from? B. His lungs worked pretty damn effectively yesterday when he brought dialog to a halt with his disorderly conduct.
This guy is really just a sad case. What’s more sad is that an important national discussion is being railroaded by people like this.
Finally, speaking of disorderly conduct. Apparently in DC it’s possible to get arrested for same by voicing an opinion on the street, while at these meetings I guess you’d need to actually blow something up to get booked.

Your saying it doesn’t make it true“And don’t y’all remember where they learned it? Think state primary caucuses where certain Obama supporters did EXACTLY the same thing. And guess what, he won 25 out of the 27 primaries determined by caucus. Maybe folks learned some new political tricks.”
Obama supporters did EXACTLY the same thing? I think you’re wrong about that. Care to prove it to us? Until you do, I think you’re full of it on this …
“If your [sic] all so bent out of shape by it, do something instead of whining on here.”
If all you think we’re doing is whining, what the fuck are YOU doing here? Piss off!
Can someone find a Pagan Lesbian Transwoman to head FaithBased Initiative?I think that that could possible induce the Right to rapture themselves out of here
not the same thing at allWear an anti-war t-shirt (or Obama bumper sticker) to a GW Bush town hall, and you go to jail (or get tossed out). Carry a gun into an Obama town hall, and you are a patriot.
Another one…..Clinton won a preponderance of votes in states where they held private voting in the primary. And if you don’t remember some Obama supporters doing EXACTLY that, then you must have been out of the Country. They were pushy and rude, just like you’re being now.
Let me guess, you’re an early Obama supporter?
Black, black, blackDid it ever occur to you that maybe they just disagree with him no matter what color he is? If you have to agree with someone just because of their skin color, doesn’t the make YOU the bigot? I’m so sick of people running to play the race card when it doesn’t apply or is not necessary. A lot of people (including me) would not like what John Edwards stands for, but would they play a race card? I think not.
Disagreement is one thingand, of course, that is fine. The right did it under the Clinton Administration all the time and at times the rhetoric did get overheated.
But you didn’t see crowds like this during the Clinton Administration either; brandishing guns, calling other people racial epithets (well, other than calling Bill Clinton himself a “nig*er lover” and calling Virginia Clinton “white trash”, but never), joke about poisoning Congresspeople, threatening to secede from the Union, etc.
Nor are these anything like the crowds that we saw during the 2000 election controversy in Florida and the fact that it was an actual election was even more serious than this, IMO. And we are seeing this every day, with increased death threats against the president.
It’s not me “playing the race card…”…It’s people coming up with all sorts of certifiably insane excuses NOT to call Obama a ni**er.
At bottom that’s what “Obamacare,” “socialist,” “muslim,” “death panel,” “Kenyan” and “Hitler” are all placeholders for, coming from these people. And really, tearing up a picture of Rosa Parks, could it be more obvious? Wake up!
How many …… previous presidents have been asked to prove they are really American citizens? And how many of those were black?
You’re a liarThat’s just great! Don’t even bother trying to answer my questions. Just change the subject! Yes, you are SUCH a dependable source of news!
What an asshole …
To be honestI think I’d rather these crazy folks ditch the excuses and go ahead and say it.
Yes there’s excess on each sideWhat I’m seeing now is BEYOND UNHINGED, with no basis in fact. Just as more temperate Democrats had to distance themselves from whackos, the sane Republicans better FORCFULLY and PUBLICLY disavow and denounce their birthers, tea baggers, and those miliitia sh*theads showing up armed at presidential appearances.Otherwise accept this does represent their Party, and they will find after 2010 they won’t have one member of Congress.
What I’m seeing is winking at this garbage, by Bohner, McConnell, McCain which keeps escalating, and secretly directed and funded by sleazy secret organizations.
No one attacked Bush’s raceNo one pictured his wife as a MOTHERF*CKING GORILLA.
do you see ANY difference?
So you thinkthe barrage of mammy caricatures, photoshopped images of the White House lawn covered with watermelons, songs like “Barack the Magic Negro” and all the scores of others we’ve seen have nothing to do with race?! Umm…I’ll bet you think leopards have nothing to do with spots, too, don’t you?
Jog my memory, pleaseWhen did an Obama supporter bring a loaded gun to a presidential event? When did an Obama-supporting “journalist” joke about poisoning the Speaker of the House? When did an Obama supporter argue that McCain wasn’t fit to be president because he was foreign-born (in Panama, remember)? No, darling, those are REPUBLICANS that do those things.
I am, and have been, no admirer of Obama. I’m on record here as thinking he’s a lying, double-dealing, hypocritical political hustler of the worst sort. But for sheer dishonesty, you make him look like St. Francis of Assisi and St. Theresa of the Little Flower rolled into one.
There’s the incentive!I hope we find one. I’m sure we can rustle up a candidate or two from regular posters here.
Any takers?
That’s itI totally agree, Matt. It’s amazing how they’re referring to Obama as a Nazi yet who’s “randomly” tearing up pictures of the late Rosa Parks? There is no other reason to do that than sheer, unadulterated racism.
Secret Service better be on their damned toes.
Why is this being allowed to happen in America?I am outraged at the politicians who have allowed this to happen this long.
Robert Rules of Order are needed!
People need to ask questions when they are acknowledged. Or better yet, stand in line and wait until your turn is up.
You interrupt or create a riot, you’re out. And arrested if you do anything illegal.
It’s not rocket science.
William Blake understood these people, many decades before their birth: ”the vision of Christ which thou dost see
is my vision’s greatest Enemy.”
See what I meanIs this how you have a civil discussion? Do you eat with that mouth? You’re acting just like all those people disrupting town hall meetings. Do you really think you’ll convince anyone of anything by calling them names? I think someone needs to grow up.
And the answers are so obvious even someone like you should know better. Shame on you.
(Plus, you’re awful brave on this here anonymous INTERNET.)
He’s the President, dummy.Every President I remember has had critics say nasty things. I suppose you don’t remember the grief they gave Truman, but you must remember all those cartoons with George Bush looking like a monkey. What if they did the same thing to President Obama? I think he’s a lot more of a person than one who has to blame race on any conflict he faces.
He might be black, or half and half, but he’s the first President since FDR that I feel has given this Country hope. I don’t agree with every ting he’s done (i.e. DOJ brief), but when I disagree with him it’s because of his stand not his color.
Smaller JeffYou’re the only person I see here whining.
But, who whines better than a conservative?
Good gosh, you’r right!Because Obama is the president, that makes racism okay. Why haven’t I realized this before? Silly me. Anyone not as clever as you at figuring that out must really BE a dummy.
You call someone who disagrees with you a dummyand then complain about a lack of civil discussion?! Man, that’s balls.
How do we get people to….…follow “Robert Rules of Order”? I have been wondering the same thing. I don’t care what side of the “aisle” you’re on, bad manners are never acceptable.
May jogging won’t help if there’s a short memory.Either some people are getting senile or they weren’t born yet, but hello? Remember the Weathermen? SDS? Black Panthers? Or even the Rosenbergs? History didn’t start this century; The “Left” has had plenty of dangerous “nutwings”in the past.
How come some people never see the big pictures? Take a stop back and you’ll see that some of these “townhall” rumors are just as bad as those anti-health reform rumors circulating.
Give me a friggin’ break!LOL…Now I’m a conservative? Do you always call people “conservative” who disagree with you or challenge your personal views? How come I can’t be the liberal? Are there any other political positions available or do you just have the two?
ughWhat the hell is with the entire gang of cops required to escort the woman – who was getting up to retrieve something torn from her hands, a pretty normal reaction – and the one cop gently walking the perp away?
Oh that’s right, the perp is a white guy (aka a real umurikan) and the victim black. In our new teabagging police state that’s a null set (i.e., In the eyes of the MSM, the police, and Limbaugh listeners, a black victim/white perp condition simply cannot exist). Fake/insurance corp-funded protesting or not, this is bullsh!t.
The Hitler comparison is always wrongheaded…but at least the Bush policies that caused people to make that comparison actually involved death, destruction, and torture. It didn’t have to do with a made up idea that everyone’s grandma is going to be put to death once she passes the age of 65. Plus, it took a while for the vitriol against Bush to reach that kind of level.
The pattern of Obama being painted as “the other” has been going on for a while now. He was called a Muslim and a terrorist before he was even in office.
Roberts RulesIs actually quite authoritarian and undemocratic: easy for those with skill and arcane knowledge of the “rules” to use it to run roughshod over opposition and silence dissent.
Simple manners can be enough.
Left “nutwings”You say potato, and I say heroes.
The SDS and the Panthers were not lunatic wingnuts. The SDS was a mass organization of students opposed to the Vietnam war. Remember…the war that killed 70,000 Americans and a couple million Vietnamese? The Black Panthers were an organization of African-Americans who, rightly or wrongly, decided that they needed self-defense for their social programs. They were virtually exterminated by the government.
As for the Rosenbergs, while I think all nuclear bombs are evil–well, let me make that all bombs–I think in balance I’m glad that somebody besides the US–the only nation to actually use these genocidal weapons against civilians–got nukes to deter the US from continued use of these monstrous creations.
Everything is not equivalent.
Now “The Left” in, say, Russia at the end of the 19th century, yes, you would be correct. I don’t ever remember left “crazies” openly calling for the assissnation of Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, or either of the Bushes.
Let’s leave Obama and the race question out of it, for the time being. I think it was the “right crazies” that at least thought about and had the beginnings of a sketchy plan to overthrow the federal government FDR and FDR did survive an assassination attempt.
“under FDR”
You talk about people with short memories? Have a mirror? My question and challenge to you was about Obama supporters. And you respond with the Weathermen, SDS, Black Panthers and the Rosenbergs. So, you’re trying to tell us thay were all Obama supporters? Or are you just completely of the rails? Come on, now, explain for us all. What do the Rosenbergs have to do with a president who wasn’t even born when they were executed? I’m sure you must a a stunningly coherent explanation.
No, you’re not a conservative.True conservatives value reason and logical approaches to problems. What you are is a reactionary crackpot.
So, calling someone who disagrees with you a “dummy”is your idea of good manners? Exactly how laughable is this going to get?
FOFLAMO!Ka-Ching! I think we have a winner!
BigJeff isn’t worth the effort, in my opinionHe makes this thread drip toxic waste, and 90% of his posts are on this thread….something smells fishy to me.
Lock-step with me or else, eh?Silence the dissenters, now that’s ticket!
Wow!Check your facts please before commenting to me. You sound like one of those “teabaggers” who make up stuff to fit their agenda.
(Here’s a hint: Who planted bombs on University campuses that blew up and killed people?)
I have no desire to silence you, or the power here to silence youSay whatever you choose, hon.
I only have power over my reactions, and actions, and I won’t be wasting my effort on you.
Mercy child, get an education! So you never heard the phrase
?What’s interesting is you thought it applied to you. Hmmmmm……
Never asked you to, dear. But what confounds me though is people just assume I’m a radical right wing conservative just because I disagree with them. We will never get any justice if you don’t understand where the other side is coming from.
I don’t think I could go to those town hall meetings and put up with those who disrupt the meetings. Some people call me a liberal and some call me a conservative. Believe it or not, I’m probably more liberal than conservative. I don’t just sit around and gripe, I actually try to get involved and do something. And where I can’t physically get involved, I contribute $.
Lame, lame, lameIn a direct response to my earlier comment, you write, “He’s the president, dummy.” How could I possibly have gotten to idea you were aiming that at me? This is as lame as everything else you’ve posted.

who planted bombs? You want to compare some stupid people who accidentally killed more of their own than anybody else (numbering what, five people in total?) with the napalming, bombing, and machine gunning of hundreds and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians?
