Stormtrooper: Let me see your identification.
Obi-Wan: [with a small wave of his hand] You don’t need to see his identification.
Stormtrooper: We don’t need to see his identification.
Obi-Wan: These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.
Stormtrooper: These aren’t the droids we’re looking for.
Obi-Wan: He can go about his business.
Stormtrooper: You can go about your business.
Obi-Wan: Move along.
Stormtrooper: Move along… move along.
Luke: I don’t understand how we got by those troops. I thought we were dead.
Obi-Wan: The Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.
The weak-minded Birther movement cares little about facts — they accept any fantasy explanation as they go along. They watch head birthers Darth Lou Dobbs and Orly Taitz wield their store-bought lightsabers in the air and the knuckle-dragging Birthers shout “YES!” in unison. They get all stirred up by the latest “evidence” regarding the President’s imagined birth in Kenya…then the facts undo the fantasy. (Media Matters):
WorldNetDaily and the right-wing fringe are very excited about their scoop that Orly Taitz has “released a copy of what purports to be a Kenyan certification of birth” for President Obama. According to WND, “Taitz told WND that the document came from an anonymous source who doesn’t want his name known because ‘he’s afraid for his life.’ ” So in order to believe Taitz and WND, one would have to assume that this document was requested 45 years ago, preserved that entire time, withheld through the entire election and transition period, and yet somehow ended up in the hands of someone sympathetic to Orly Taitz.DailyKos’ David Waldman has identified what appears to be an even more glaring problem with WND’s latest smoking gun. The document posted by WND purports to have been produced by the “Republic of Kenya” on February 17, 1964. But Kenya didn’t even become a republic until December 12, 1964. An article from that day’s Washington Post, for example, reported that “Kenya became the newest republic within the British Commonwealth at midnight.”
UPDATE: Jesus’ General makes note of the “discovery.”

OMG the conspiracy is deeper than I thoughtSomeone infiltrated Kenya 45 years ago and time-shifted their uhuru day!
So we’re being invadedby extragalactic, evil, warrior monks. If that were true, it would, in some ways, make more sense then people really being this stupid.
I like Bill Maher’s coment on the Birthers“We’ll produce Obama’s birth certificate when you produce Sarah Palin’s high school diploma.”
The nature of conspiracy theories1–the more outlandish, the more believable they are to the believers
2–rational attempts to disprove them only affirm the strength of the believer’s faith in the theory
3–they are closed circles because they are paranoid fantasies
4–they give comfort to the mentally troubled and deeply needy
5–they are black holes, since everything disappears into them: sense, evidence, and even time itself
6–mockery is like the facts: more proof that the theory is true
7–outrage ditto: “If people are so angry at us this must have exposed the truth!”
8–the theme song of all conspiracy theories is: “I’m Bringing Stupid Back.” Like “Sexy,” of course, it’s never been gone
9–paranoid thinking is as old as the Republic. Just read what the partisans of Adams and Jefferson said about their opponents
Here are three alternatives for Birthers to investigate:1. Senator John McCain was not a U.S. Citizen under the law when he was born.
- This is actually true. He was born in the Panama Canal Zone. At the time, the law did not include leased peoperty, only the states, territories and possessions of the United States. The law was amended two years after he was born, and applied retroactively.
2. If you counted all the votes in Florida properly in 2000, Al Gore won the state.
- Actually true. A consortium of leading newspapers showed that if you did a full recount, and counted the ballote with “overvotes” that were discarded (where someone punched out Al Gore, and wrote in Gore for emphasis – as one vote, of course, not two) as well as the “undervotes” (partial chads), Gore won. Unfortunately, the Gore team didn’t even challenge these ballots being discarded.
3. The Bush Administration lied about weapons of mass destruction being in Iraq, as a casus belli for invasion and occupation.
- Actually true. And when Saddam Hussein gave in on all the UN demands on the eve of the invasion, G.W.Bush added another one – that he and his sons leave Iraq in 48 hours. That was something Saddam would not do. So the real reason for the invasion of Iraq was the equvalent of a gunslinger’s “get out of town by sundown” threat.
Orwhen they show us Orly Taitz’ non-diploma mill degree and ABA membership card?
Jon Stewartnailed this one: http://www.thedailyshow.com/wa…
A shorter clip, via “Hardball”:
Unfortunately…he also offered up the reason that the lizard people are going to win this one: there’s no idea so stupid that Americans won’t buy it.
Prepare for President Palin in 2012.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cryThis birther shit is so ridiculous and inane even as a conspiracy theory.
un-named source of birth certificate, pre-Kenya…..Nigerian Prince
I don’t understand this birther businessDoesn’t Obama’s mother’s citizenship automatically make him a “natural born citizen” regardless of birth location?
Isn’t this all moot?
Actually, noJohn McCain is an American citizen, regardless of where he was born, because both his parents were American citizens.
Which is another inconvenient fact that birthers tend to overlook – no matter WHERE Obama was born, his mother was a US citizen, and so I’m pretty sure that makes him one too.
Stephen Colbert’s mockery of Orly Taitz“It’s the Chester A. Arthur administration all over again!” LOL @ Stephen.
They use the perceived vaguenessof the definition of “natural born citizen” to craft a “real” definition custom-tailored to exclude Obama.
