I’m always amazed by the reach of Pam’s House Blend. Looking at our website visits and page view numbers, we’re now averaging between 9,000 and 10,000 visitors a day. This is up by roughly a factor of two from our pre-Democratic National Conventions numbers.
But, the Alliance Defense Fund‘s Alliance Alert website linked to Pam’s House Blend with their alert .
If the end of the world occurs soon after the Alliance Defense Fund (a legal organization that was created by James D. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries and James Dobson of Focus On The Family/CitizenLink) has linked to us, the end of the world is coming soon, eh?

Bullshit.Political maneuvering my ass. They couldn’t care less about reality, science, or people’s health and well-being.
They want LGBT people declared insane, immoral and disturbed because their religion says it’s a “sin”. They’re the ones who want to twist science to fit their political agenda.
UmAutumn…. it’s D. James Kennedy. I said the ‘D’ stood for either “Demented”, “Deranged”, and “Dictator”.
Thanks the fates or whomever that this fascist died a couple of years ago, and unfortunately some TV stations still air his show with sonny-boy the new bigot-in-charge.
kudosI don’t know about you, but when a link to my blog appeared in an Alliance Defense Fund alert, I took that as a sign that I was doing something right. Hell, I’m still proud that I somehow ended up on their radar.
I am not at all surprised by your reach or your impressive traffic. I am a straight white guy living in Mississippi, and I consider your blog to be one of the very few must-reads out there. In fact, yours is one of two non-atheist-specific blogs I visit at least weekly.
Hi Christians! Welcome!I’m an out transgender Lesbian Christian going to seminary to become an ordained minister!
Who knows?
Maybe one day I’ll be in the pulpit of YOUR CHURCH!
Our fiendish plotYou’ll be the one sent along when all the churches everywhere are forced to gay-marry everyone against their will.
Oops!Fixed the “D.” to put it in the right spot.
“Demented” says itA friend of mine who, weirdly, works in Christian TV (don’t ask), tells me that D. James Kennedy was in and out of mental hospitals for the last thirty years of his life. Where precisely the DSM placed him on the scale of mental illness is not known.
They should be so lucky.
And for those already in ungay marriageswe’ll just make one of them change gender – instant gay marriage!
After all, sexual orientation and gender identity can be change with therapy, right?
They apologized?!?
Sure, don’t you know the Antis and Anitas have integrity?ADF’s been watching here for a while.
BTW, their news alert site is a great place to catch news at alliancealert.org. They make it easy because when it’s GLBT news there’s usually a big rainbow flag on the front news page. Plus under the Tag Archive heading, HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA is in larger type than the rest.
I ck it often myself.
You have the right ideaIt’s always necessary to be well-grounded in opposition positions in order to effectively argue aganst them.
One of the reasons I have gotten better over the past few years at citing to the Bible is that it’s the Bible that many opponents of LGBT civil and human rights use incorrectly as protective coloration for their bigotry.
Years ago I used to regularly listen to BBC radio and Radio Moscow on the shortwave. While I always had to bring a certain degree of skepticism to the Radio Moscow reporting, there was often enough enough truth in it for me to find things that the American press either did not touch or that did not get out of local coverage. (Example, Comunist propaganda about American human rights violations involving Native Americans often had some truth in it not covered in American mainstream press).
I don’t expect truth from the Christianist right-wing organizations – but understanding their arguments is a necessary prerequisite to effective counterargument.
As with Radio Moscow, the coverage of these Christianist (and other) right wing groups is apt to portray the particular news bit with an oppositely-charged bias.
