(Welcome, C&L readers…UPDATE (3/11, 3PM): Sally Kern has put out a rip-roaring unrepentant press release!)
Mother of god, this is horrible. We nominate to the pantheon of homo hate Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (sallykern@okhouse.gov). She didn’t know that she was being recorded in a meeting, so we get the a nice insight about what she thinks of her gay and lesbian constituents. Perhaps she doesn’t think she has any.
About 30 seconds into this homobigoted, fact-free, BS screed, Rep. Kern actually says how she doesn’t hate gays (of course not!), then proceeds to continue on her tirade of filth.
Some tidbits:
Studies show, no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted for more than, you know, a few decades. . .
I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam.
They want to get them into the government schools so they can indoctrinate them.
…They are going after our young children, as young as two years of age, to try to teach them that the homosexual lifestyle is an acceptable lifestyle.
You know, gays are infiltrating city councils…did you know that the city council of Eureka Springs is now controlled by gays — they are winning elections.
One of my colleagues said We don’t have a gay problem in our community…well you know what, that is so dumb. If you have cancer in your little toe, do you just say that I’m going to forget about it since the rest of you is fine? It spreads! This stuff is deadly and it is spreading. It will destroy our young people and it will destroy this nation.
I don’t think you need to guess which party Kern belongs to. This is a woman who sits on the Education Committee in the OK legislature. She’s also a member of Mother Schlafly’s Eagle Forum.
UPDATE: More reaction to Kern’s rant from a Sexual Identity and Spirituality Conference at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
Members of the metro’s gay community are finding it hard to believe Kern also says homosexuality is a bigger threat than terrorism.“What she’s saying is outrageous, and completely a betrayal of the public trust for someone who is elected to a public office,” Reverend Scott Jones of the Cathedral of Hope said.
…Reverend Jones says Kern’s rant is filled with everything but the truth. “Historical errors, psychological errors, scriptural errors, and just one thing after another that she makes in that speech,” Jones said.
A number of those attending say they plan to write, e-mail and call Representative Kern’s office first thing Monday morning and they’re urging the rest of America to do the same.
There is video or reactions — including an interview with Kerns, at this link.

I intend to explain to her the connection between her hate speech and people getting killed like Lawrence King and Simmie Williams and so many others.
I believe that people who speak hate, especially elected persons, need to be confronted. AND I think the Victory Fund deserves to a contribution!!
Mindblowing? This is horrible, but I’m not sure how it’s mindblowing. It’s pretty standard Fundie-Republican hate speech.
Unbelievable!!!Now watch how the anti-gay industry will make her seem like a matyr for free speech.
I suspect Janet Folger will even give her an award
Nutcake with frostingUnfortunately she really shouldnt suprise anyone … she made it clear when campaigning that she stood for all of the things she is doing. But folks rarely think that a rational human would really do stuff like this. She is a nutcake with a little frosting on top and you know how people love frosting.
Hopefully 20 years from now the people will look back and shudder at what fools they were to support this caricature.
All we can do is hope her foolishness doesnt stick to the pan.
TimeJust think, a hundred years ago she would have been agitated about the dangers of those colored people.
I wonder what group her grandchildren will feel the need to protect society from.
Batshite Crazy?Don’t give this hateful ol sow an excuse for her bigotry…She’s just “Eat up with the dumbass”, as they say here in Little Dixie (SEOK). Yet another run of the mill, self-loathing gay/lesbian politician who’s doing a whole lot of projecting.”
Even when they’re pulling out all the stops to run “illegal aliens” out of our state, our GOP lawmakers still have the time to do a little gay-bashing. Multi-tasking at its worst.
A Hundred Years Ago…That feeling is alive and well in OK right now. It’s more and more a minority view, but it’s still here. Only they don’t use the word “colored”….
This situation makes me mad because we aren’t going to handle it the right wayI bet I know how this is going to turn out:
No one is going to make this woman back up what she says. She claims that she has “induspitable proof,” but no one is going to challenge her on it directly.
Us gay folks are going to focus on calling her a homophobe for what she said. She is going to hide behind the first amendment. The religious right is going to try and make her a martyr. But NO ONE is going to say “SALLY KERNS, THESE ARE THE WORDS COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. LET’S SEE THESE FACTS YOU ALLUDED TO ABOUT GAY PEOPLE.”
The First AmendmentOnly protects your right to free speech. It doesn’t protect you from the consequences of your speech.
The First Amendment protects your right to speak like an idiot. It doesn’t stop other people from calling you an idiot.
And this vicious sorry-ass excuse of a human being is certainly indulging in her right to speak like an idiot. I can’t wait to see her reap the consequences of it!
ThoughtsThis woman and her views gives me the “creeps”. This woman is a “teacher”, give me a break. This just leaves me speachless. Disgusting.
By “we” do you mean Oklahomans?Because it is really only people in OK, preferably in her legislative district, who can have any direct leverage with her. And you’re right, they need to confront her and make her go on record with her “evidence”. But just assuming that no one is going to challenge her is defeatism at it’s worst. By taking that view, you’ve totally capitulated to her.
If this is something that bothers you and you are in OK, I suggest that you take the reigns and take this up with her personally, also write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Have your friends do the same. If you are not from OK but you really want to see this woman red the riot act, you might consider getting on the horn to Oklahomans for Equality, ACLU of Oklahoma or similar organization and ask them how you can help them shine a light on her baseless bigotry.
you have a pointThis does not happen in just Oklahoma. Legislators across the country get tuned into religious right propaganda. While those in OK need to handle their business, it is important that keep that in perspective.
And I don’t think I am capitulating to bring up the fact that when cases like this happen, we tend to react and not think of ways to control the argument. It’s not capitulating to tell the lgbt community not to throw around words like “homophobia” without some proof behind them. Just saying that her words are wrong and hurt gay people won’t do.
She’s done her “research.”
Which comes straight from Wildmon’s “They’re Coming To Your Town” DVD.
Exactly! That is what I am talking about, Emproph.
And that stuff she said about the life span of gay folks is from Paul Cameron, as well as the bit about gays and pedophilia.
And then she claims in an interview that she can back up what she says with facts. I say make her back it up so that people can see how easy it is for negative propaganda about gays can take root in legitimate places like State Legislatures.
Kern’s reaction to the YouTubeHahahahahahaha. Look at her reaction to this dustup (hat tip, Connie). She’s only sorry that she was recorded:
OK….I just raised the issue with a number of my colleagues in the OKC news market, and some editor friends I know around the state….
Unfortunately, past experience has taught me that the only response we’ll get from the OK news corps will be the sound of crickets….
Consider the SOURCE of this hate…Religion once again.
That’s the common theme in all the hate I see. Religious people hating the ‘other’.
To truly fight the hate, we must fight the SOURCE.
i’m not convincedthat the source of the hate is religion per se. more like, people use religion as a cloak for their hate. that said, i think it is the responsibility of religious people to call out the false use of their religion by people like this. and i mean really call it out, like to the abuser’s face.
Rep. Kern responded to my email … she wrote:
Richard,
Thank you for your email. I appreciate you taking the time to write and express your concerns and opinion.
I am totally against hate speech. Always have been and always will be. What you heard on YouTube was from a talk I gave on the aggressive movement to fund homosexuals and pro-homosexual candidates across the country and here in Oklahoma now that an openly homosexual is running for a statewide seat. The account given on YouTube took my words out of context and omitted other parts stringing certain words together to make it appear I was engaging in hate speech. I was not and would never do such a thing. The
YouTube account is a blatant misrepresentation of my talk.
As an American, you and I, and everyone else has the right to express our opinion. I said nothing that wasn’t true. The homosexual agenda is real, the movement is aggressive, and it is a very real threat to the sacred institution of marriage and the traditional family unit. They are actively seeking to remove conservatives from the political arena. My talk was to a Republican group and I was speaking about the homosexual agenda to defeat conservative Republicans. They want to silence anyone who does not approve their lifestyle. They want their freedom but don’t want those who disagree to have their freedom.
I have said and will continue to say that they have every right to choose that lifestyle and I will defend their right to do so. But I do not have to agree with it and speaking against it is not hate speech.
God bless,
Sally Kern
agreed!
‘Kay?This woman is a moron. ‘Kay? She is pitifully uneducated. ‘Kay? Her paranoid rant is sickening. ‘Kay? She afraid that there’s a fabulous gay boogie man hiding under her bed. ‘Kay?
not a surprising responseI think Author is onto something above. People like Kern need to be publicly called out on the “facts” that they use to bolster their positions. Too many people buy into her style of rhetoric because they are already predisposed to be anti-gay, and so don’t bother to do the mental due diligence themselves. So we need to force a public discussion. Only then will people really be faced with the absurdity of her rhetoric and their own unexamined assumptions.
TypicalTypical self victimization nonsense.
She didn’t even address the lies she said. No one is trying to silence anyone but she should be made accountable for what comes out of her mouth.
and she was voted into office,so she isn’t alone. not ‘Kay.
For the Record
For the record, I think Rep. Kern is full of hate, ignorance, and is partly responsible for every gay bashing and murder and every transexual and transgender bashing and murder in 2008 and beyond.
there you goThey want to silence anyone who does not approve their lifestyle.
No one is trying to silence this homobigot; she can say whatever she wants — and will have to take the heat when reality-based people take exception to her comments.
False use?Her Bible claims that GLBT people are worthy of death. How is she being ‘false’ to her religion. She’s not. She’s being TRUE to it.
One tactic…Constituents should write her and point out that there are about 5,791 issues more important that Eeeeeeeeevil Gays in an obscure resort town. What has she done lately to ensure that her local electricity grid or water supply or… is secured against domestic (McVeigh, anyone?) or foriegn saboteurs. What has she done to ensure that the students of OK have a firm grasp of US history, US governance mechanisms(“civics”, not generally part of the curriculum anymore), basic biology and so on.
Bupkus. She’s worried about teh gayz under her bed.
Kerns choice is the Hate Lifestyle
I just wrote to her Anyone interested in my email is welcome to ask for it. If she believes what she says, she IS stupid.Maybe my email to her might have been too long. But i had to get it out of me.
Thanks for the info.
So, she doesn’t like hate speech, eh?
And here she is, too stupid to recognize it when she utters it.
Ye Gods…
i love ithow her very speech proves that she is perfectly free to speak her mind. the lack of logic in such people is stunning.
what she really is saying is “i’m too cowardly and embarrassed to say these things in public”.
“The homosexual agenda is real. . .”Riiiiight. In hers and every other fundies head.
Actually, from my point of view, Kern and the rest of the American Taliban are. . .”the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam.” Any group that seeks to impose their view of morality on the rest of society by way of force of law or unequal protection is a danger to our Constitution and the American way of life.
her religion vs our religionStorm, yes, she is being true to her religion and her Bible, but that is not the same as our religion or our Bible. The strange interpretations made by right-wing Christians doesn’t poison the religion itself, but I agree that the outspokenness of “Christian conservatives” does give that impression.
I sent Ms Kerns this letter….First off lady,
As a 47yr old American citizen - your comments make me wanna puke. Gays are worse then Terrorism ? Oh really? Infiltrating school boards…are they..? you mean like Crazy Self
righteous Christians are doing? You are a Disgrace to Women/teachers and mothers everywhere…and to every woman who ever fought for equality….the suffragettes would roll over in their gravesIF you knew anything about them women…you would know that RELIGION was USED to discriminate against them…cause’ you see, the argument back then was “If women obtain the RIGHT to VOTE, the Fabric of American society will fall apart”…sound familiar? …..look up the name Alice Paul lady! You don’t have to worry about gays flocking to Oklahoma……no need to go to your backwards, bigoted state….your state in a drivethru, fly over state….another bastion of Republican Fear mongering, and hate. You supposed Christians can’t stand the gays, but LOVE torture….love war…..you could care less about homelessness, poverty, the economy…you are a sick sad pathetic women….and I feel sorry for you/your students past and present….and any children/or grandchildren you have….maybe you need to educate yourself on the writings of MLK Jr,and Corretta Scott King….remember lady – we ALL heard you….we heard you loud and clear. JRC ,Deptford NJGod Bless!Right. All that does is make me want to watch the George Carlin special “It’s Bad For Ya” all over again tonight.
I was not aware there were two bibles…I didn’t know that.
All the Bibles I’ve ever seen condemn gay people to death and say that the people should be happy and approving when someone kills them. I can find the exact verses if you wish.
Where can I find a version of your bible that doesn’t contain those passages?
YouTube = silence?Funny how the ones who supposedly want to silence her are the same ones who put her speech on YouTube and gave her a national and international audience.
There are Many BiblesIt’s the interpretation that counts. Her sect and she herself are obsessed with same-sex behavior–but the Bible is not (certainly not Herbew Scripture). It talks about adultery WAY more, yet you never hear these folk inveighing against adultery, or rarely. You have to wonder.
The other bibleWhere can I find a version of your bible that doesn’t contain those passages?
Try the Jefferson bible.
Terrorism bit totally ticked me offI emailed the blowhard and explained to her what the threat of terrorism is really about. I live in DC and was 7 blocks from the White House on 9/11. I remember mentally calculating the trajectory of the potential debris field if the WH were hit by the last hijacked plane. I asked her if she knew what it felt like to run for her life from a terrorist attack – because I certainly do. I also asked her if she knew there was both a gay and a lesbian hero on board United 93.
I’ll fill everyone in if I get a response.
bIgotThe clip is neither strange, nor mind-blowing. It’s pretty much standard fare from these folks.
Take a look at the Texas Republican Party Platform – now, that can be mind-blowing – if you can find it posted anywhere.
Until I moved to Texas from N.Y., I did not believe there were so many mean-spirited people around. They are quite often very accepting with individuals, but oppose rights for a group. It’s as if they cannot think through the effects of their generalized hatred.
Her stuff, meant for her supporters is run of the mill. In fact, if she didn’t make those points, if she had been in any way neutral (never mind accepting), she would have lost the support of her core.
There’s folks out there that think it’s O.K. to hunt us.
My response to Rep. KernI spent all afternoon making this video response to Rep. Sally Kern:

Please check it out.
ROTFLMAO Fritz
Well done, Fritz! Oh well done indeed!!
On the other hand. . . .Most Christians are pretty ignorant about this from the Jewish POV. The two lines in the Hebrew Bible referring to some kind of same-sex behavior 1) most likely refer to pagan rituals like the prohibitions on Baal worship and 2) have absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality or being gay, since there was no such concept in those days and there’s no such word in the text and 3) aren’t entirely clear and 4) were already by the time of Jesus or earlier considered out of date. What do you do with all these death penalties for crimes when you don’t want to condemn people to death? You hedge them in, demand two witnesses, thus making it highly unlikely that anyone will be executed. Historically, Judaism has never been obsessed with these prohibitions or same sex behavior the way Christianity has been. I have no idea why so many Christians go apeshit about it and have done over the centuries.
….so FIGHT OUT LOUDso get a hold of GLAAD or FIGHT OUT LOUD…. and FIGHT OUT LOUD, instead of just here in friendly blogs, or sending letters to people you know will ignore them.DO A protest vigil on the steps of the STATE HOUSE and make yourself heard!
Kern’s ridiculous assertionsFollowing is a copy of the e-mail I sent her.
Representative Kern,
I just listened, in utter astonishment, at your anti-gay screed, recently posted at a number of web sites. It’s almost inconceivable that a person who one would think is somewhat educated would utter such ridiculous drivel in this day and age, none of which can be substantiated by fact, . It must be quite sad to have such outsized concern for such a small minority of the population, that you apparently actually believe that gays have the power to change people into something that they can’t be. Your disdain for your fellow citizens is also quite obvious, as you seem to be under the delusion that they have no free will to repel the alleged acts that your homosexual enemies are allegedly capable of inflicting on ordinary Americans. You also appear to have no will of your own, as you are obviously completely afraid that, through some “agenda,” the tiny homosexual community is working to change you into a homosexual, as if that were even possible. I am not a homosexual, and no amount of coercion, force, or any other method of behavioral change is going to convert me to become gay, no matter what anyone’s “agenda” is. Your absurd allegations that the homosexual community is somehow going to turn our children into homosexuals also shows precisely how little you understand human physiology and behavior. It is simply laughable at best, and pathetic at worst, that you think you can convince intelligent people that they can somehow be turned into homosexuals through some alleged “agenda.”
Your ranting and raving brings to mind other previous historical events, such as the Salem Witch Trials and the shameful American Slavery era, when people obviously quite like you justified their ignorant and unconscionable acts and beliefs against those who would cause them no harm, simply because they were different. Your ravings clearly show that, despite repeated evidence that their ridiculous beliefs bear no fruit, there are always those who never seem to be able to grasp reality, and live in such irrational fear of others that they totally lose their grip on reality, and strike out at their imagined enemies, only to make themselves look as foolish as they in actuality are.
Of course, what is saddest about this incident is that you are in a position with some power, able to spread your outrageous assertions to others. The comforting fact that we can take solace in is that the number of people who still have their minds in the twelfth century is surely dwindling, while the reality of modern times passes them by, with most modern folk feeling both pity and disbelief that such irrationality is still present in some. As has been proven over and over, irrational fear of the different is frequently a powerful motivator for some to make themselves look downright foolish.
…???two BiblesGive me a break the orignal bible was written in ancient Hebrew… and a few passages in Greek I beleive. If yours isn't it isn't a TRUE Bible anyway just a 'VERSION' which has been mistranslated for centuries. The word for homosexualtiy was not coined until the 18th century. Passage in the bible refer to priests of Baal using homeless boys for church prostitutes. The bible passages state that Jews should not do that. Which is quite true I believe, although Catholics have done it up to the present time, and probably still are. There is no mention made of a homosexual lay lifestyle.
….American Taliban….almost as good as Christofascists.. Maybe we should vote.
she’s setting herself up for martyrdomNote how she says early on how it’s dangerous for her to say these things. The Xtians of this ilk are all salivating to be martyrs for the cause — in name only, of course. They take refuge in their homogenous communities knowing that they’re fully safe, yet they still talk about how brave they’re being by spewing hate.
Wanna talk brave? A queer teen who’s out at school, that’s braver than these folks will ever know.
Makes me want to run for city council somewhere.
I watch all this from far, far away.Looking at the comments from one article, I begin to wonder if your country has any hope at all.
Stay the course Senator Kern. We are 100% with you.
>
Sorry, But I must agree with rep. Kern. I guess I was just born that way.
>
Representative Kern is 100% correct!
>
I believe she has the right to have her own opinions. I have the right to not agree with the gay lifestyle. She stated what she and many other Christians believe and I applaud her. Most gays will comment on this just because it was against them and not view it as a right to her opinion which may be true. I say that you say what you want, I say what I want.
>
I don’t see anything she said is soo bad. Why is it okay for the gay community can voice their belief but get offended when the straight world takes a stand and accuses us as a hate crime.. By the way the gays need to read the bible front to back and see it stand on gay people. I teach my children that being gay is unaceptable and a sin against god. I’m proud to be a straight woman and proud that I am raising god fearing law abidding staight citzens. Yes I am ANTIGAY. I applause Rep Kern for being true to her beliefs and not allowing the gay community to bully her.
>
Preach it, No matter what people want to hear and say the Holy Bible says Homosexuality is wrong and those involved will be punished.
>
There are many of us who share the same sentiments of Representative Kern. Until biblically proven otherwise, we will continue to back her statements.
>
I have to say I really appreciate what Sally Kern said and that she is not backing down from her personal beliefs. It is incredibly interesting to me that people who scream for tolerance are so intolerant when it comes to things that are not in line with their thinking. Sally Kern said nothing in a hateful way, she was simply giving her opinion. Good for her.
>
I agree with Mrs. Kerns. Why is it that if they do not agree with our beliefs and morals it is ok, but if we do not agree with theirs, it is hate speech.
>
Representative Kern should be praised for her stance against homosexuality. God bless her for having the courage to speak out, and there is no “hate speech” whatsoever. Of course the gays want us to think of it that way, because they have no reasonable argument for there perverted lifestyle.
>
Since when did the Bill of Rights state that if you disagree with someone it is automatically “hatespeech”. Freedom of speech gives us the right to verbally disagree with the words, actions, and even lifestyle, of anyone. No one said you had to agree with her, or act on her words. But the LAW states that she has the right to say what she wants to say.
————————————————————
What blows my mind on this subject is that most of the comments above show the basest level of intellect. The following comments leap out and grab you, being a tiny light of sense in a sea of idiocy:
“The Bible is a much bigger book than the small-minded comments by this woman indicate. Many Christians interpret the scriptures to which she refers as they interpret scriptures condoning slavery and subjugation of women — as understandings of a primitive society. Nonetheless, she represents all her constituents and this ignorance towards a particular segment of the population is one more argument against theocracy. Her bigoted words re-enforce those who believe Oklahoma is a state full of backward rednecks.”

“No way, this is hideous. Makes us all look like a bunch of hick bigots. She sounds like that freak pastor and group out of Kansas, Westboro Hate Group, that runs to picket at our dead military personnel’s funerals.. saying that God is punishing us because of our tolerance for homosexuals. Maybe you guys are in the same group???”

Here’s a whopper:
“Freedom of speech gives us the right to verbally disagree with the words, actions, and even lifestyle, of anyone. No one said you had to agree with her, or act on her words. But the LAW states that she has the right to say what she wants to say.”
This is the kind of fuckwit that will connect school shootings with the Gothic subculture, violent video games and heavy metal, yet can not possibly conceive that some politician/priest uttering words that label us as “more of a danger than terrorism”, could be all the justification needed by some brainwashed nutjob to assault/murder some gay person.
To quote 2, “pull your head out of your ass America, we’re supposed to be better than this.”
Last I heard, orthodox Jews go apeshit over it too. There have been rare incidents of love between Muslims and radical Jews in Israel joining forces against us.
Are they misreading the Bible in Hebrew too?
Do we also misread the Bible when we notice all the killings, sacrifices, betrayals, wife stealings, ethnic cleansings, feudal maneuverings that David, Elijah, and many of the other good ole prophet boys in the Hebrew Bible indulge in?
Obviously good people like yourself can interpret the Bible in a positive manner, and a lot of the literature in the Bible is beautiful and inspiring, but I see it as a man-made controlling document to keep people in line and not as the word of a good God.
“They want to silence anyone who does not approve their lifestyle.”-Muzzle the church
-Take away freedom of religion
-Indoctrinate children into their lifestyle
Etcetera, etcetera. These are all things they would do, because it’s how they approach life. So naturally, anyone who disagrees with them must be trying to do the same to them. And because they have no clear evidence to support this theory, it must be a conspiracy, AKA “agenda.”
Even the examples of “evidence” that they do find are so few and far between, that they not only have to share them, recycle them for years on end, but they even distort those to make them seem credible – one of the ADF’s specialties.
The Bible is not followed word for word by any ChristianStorm, the Bible is bursting at the seams with passages ignored by Christians. For example, adulterers are also singled out to be killed – if we followed that one, the population on Earth would be much lower than it is.
And the Bible approves of slavery, which Christians in the American South during the pre-Civil War era eagerly pointed to justify their own institution of slavery. Very few Christians are going to make that claim today.
What matters about the Bible is not so much as what is in it, as how it is interpreted. Every Christian interprets the Bible, everyone ignores some passages, even those who claim to be literalists/fundamentalists.
Every word is kept in placeEven the ones that are illegal to carry out in civilized countries. Why don’t they take the stoning passages out, edit the Bible the way Jefferson did to reflect the U.S. Constitution. Because, the Pope, and the Vatican council, whether we like it or not, has the last say. Fundamental Christians, especially evangelicals, like that history. They get power and money through instilling guilt of sin. Their biggest enemy, education.
We have to make it easy somehow.“Just saying that her words are wrong and hurt gay people won’t do.”
Agreed, but refuting this garbage needs to be made easily applicable. As long as they can rely on their code words and hackneyed examples of persecution, they will be able to mask their hate speech as legitimate. It shouldn’t even have to get as far as mentioning Paul Cameron or the AFA DVD.
-Lifestyle is code for sexually promiscuous
-Shortened lifespan is code for dying of AIDS
-Agenda is code for nefarious conspiracy
Then you’ve got your “gay on straight” “hate crimes,” they continually trot out — without the background information — like Mary Stachowicz and Jesse Dirkhising.
And then your ADF examples of “religious persecution,” which also require distortion to make them appear credible.
Eureka Springs passed a DP ordinance, that’s about the essence of what she means by “controlled by gays,” at least as far as the video is concerned. I’m sure the other examples she gave are similarly spurious.
Point being, all too often, the best they can come up with is easily shot down with little information. I’m thinking a one to two sentence rule is in order to make that information practical to remember and recite — in a way that is possible to keep coming back to when they attempt to obfuscate further.
kern is in NO positionto be doling shame upon other people. she’s a demon. i hope these words become her legacy.
Anyone notice the denunciation of the First AmendmentThough well disguised, the claim that all religions are not equal” by an elected official is outrageous, and perhaps her most vulnerable point.
“all religions are not equal”I’m glad you brought attention to it. That statement is the antithesis of religious freedom.
In addition, she also set up that claim by first saying that not all “lifestyles” are equal. Thereby also associating drug-fueled-sex-crazed-promiscuity with those supposedly “not equal” religions.
well that killed my joy over Buffy ….So this morning I find out that Buffy finally sleeps with another slayer in the Season Eight comic written by Joss. Then this afternoon I get to hear all about the ravings of an ex-teacher. What a kill joy.
No, no! I’m not going to let one idiot mess with my mellow! I’m going to go read some fanfiction written by Pat Kelly and thumb my nose at all the idiots in the world.

I was so, um, impressed with your recent comments on the threat that I pose to the United States of America. Sorry about destroying the Sanctity of Bigotry and all that.
To try to make it up to you, Sally, I’ve made a website for you. I think you’ll agree that the domain name should be easy to remember. It’s http://SallyKern.com/
